The 'Karen' Syndrome

Too many people need to learn the concept of: Choose Your Battles Wisely

Yes, there are issues worth fighting about.....although few merit losing your mind over.....but this stuff with the damn masks doesn't seem worth the effort of engaging in battle, often with store clerks who are just following their employer's instructions by enforcing the policy. It's one thing to protest taxes if you truly think they're unconstitutional but the masks were brought about with protecting people from the virus in mind. I doubt that the authorities were looking for a way to piss people off by requiring they wear masks in certain establishments.

At any rate, seeing the mask requirement as an impediment to your personal freedom seems even more absurd when you consider all the real problems society has to deal with today.

And of course, there are the Karens' overboard reactions to matters that are usually so far out of proportion to the issue involved that..........well, that's how the term 'Karens' came to be in the first place.

Hey, there’s a lot of power in those leg kicks. Those officers could barely handle it.

 

True, but one can see the problems police face today in dealing with violent situations. If they don't apply enough force to contain the incident and one of the officers gets an eye gouged out in the process, the police are criticized for not properly controlling the incident.......but if they do prevent the injury by meeting the force of the suspect with force of their own.....and the suspect gets hurt..... there will be nationwide criticism detailing still another instance of what will be called police brutality.

On another front, we've all had cause to get mad over things that happen to us, but I can honestly say I've never been THAT angry over anything in my entire life, a state this 'Karen' probably reaches multiple times every day.

Here’s what surprised me the most about that clip: it was in another country, possibly central or South America, by the way the surroundings looked. I’m shocked that they didn’t use a lot more force. When it comes to law enforcement in those countries, they don’t play- they rarely handle situations such as this “with kid gloves”, so to speak. I know this because I’ve been to places like this in the past. This could very well be one of those instances that maybe they really watched what they were doing because they knew they were being recorded, or this “woman” was drugged up and too much for all of them to handle. I’m surprised they didn’t night stick them legs up real good!!

Karen is a pejorative slang term for an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and often racist middle-aged white woman
who uses her privilege to get her way or police other people's behaviors.

You could be right, she could just be an unruly woman who was initially arrested for disturbing the peace or public intoxication.
