Sen. Risch asks Blinken to explain who ends Biden's speeches


Sen. James Risch grilled Secretary of State Antony Blinken about who at the White House cuts off President Biden when he is speaking — as most recently occurred in Idaho on Monday — during a Senate hearing Tuesday to determine responsibility for the botched US military withdrawal in Afghanistan.

“We’ve all seen this. We saw it as recently as yesterday. Somebody in the White House has authority to press the button and stop the president, cut off the president’s speaking ability. So who is that person?” Risch (R-Idaho) pressed Blinken at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

 

White House livestream cuts Biden mid-sentence as he goes off script


An official White House livestream of President Biden’s remarks was abruptly cut off mid-sentence on Monday — just days after a report revealed that some White House staffers have stopped listening to him speak in public for fear he’ll veer wildly off-message.

Biden was meeting with officials in Boise, Idaho, to discuss the wildfires raging across the western United States when he turned his attention to George Geissler of the National Association of State Foresters.

BOISE, Idaho — Hundreds of protesters gathered near the Boise Airport and the National Interagency Fire Center on Monday to rally against the arrival of President Joe Biden.

Some came to protest the recent Afghanistan withdrawal while many others were opposed to COVID-19 measures such as vaccine mandates. Last week, Biden announced new rulesmandating all employers with more than 100 employees require vaccinations or weekly tests for employees.

A crowd of protesters opposed to vaccine mandates — including city teachers — chanted “F— Joe Biden” Monday while crossing the Brooklyn Bridge en route to a City Hall gathering.

Videos of the raucous group posted to Twitter show some participants disparaging the chief executive along with COVID-19 vaccine restrictions.

 

If Biden goes LaLa Land, he was wise enough to pick a much younger vice president while, frankly, he was never the sharpest pencil in the box. Latest Democrat tax proposal raises rates, but not as bad as Wall Streeters feared

A back-to-the-drawing-board plan released by House Democrats on Monday that would fund a $3.5 trillion spending bonanza had some on Wall Street breathing a slight sigh of relief.

The plan still raises corporate and individual tax rates, but it’s pared back in some places from an earlier proposalthat had been circulating in the Senate: It removes taxes on CEO pay and stock buybacks that had raised hackles. It also does away with a carbon tax the Biden Administration had floated as part of the “Green New Deal.”

Still, the plan looks to hike taxes substantially, including:

• Raising the corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 26.5 percent
• .Increasing the topindividual income tax rate rate from 37 percent to 39.6 percent.

Big whoop. Now if half of them just simply paid what they owe, none of this would be necessary. Seems that the IRS can only collect from little old ladies and whatever $100 mistakes we common folks make and not the wealthy individuals and corporations that owe zillions. Still waiting for the trickle down to trickle down.

 

I would like everything simplified, if we have to pay taxes everyone “ individuals “ should pay the same percentage .

 

That's far too easy, and far too fair. What would we do with the miles of tax code we have now? It's sad that the IRS can't even get a hold of it and corporate tax lawyers play all the loop holes. Even if they get caught, it's oops, pay a little interest and move on to doing it again.

 

White House defends Milley amid Trump 'treason' accusation

President Biden is standing by Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, despite accusations he committed treason during the final weeks of the Trump administration by reassuring his Chinese counterpart that then-President Trump would not attack Beijing.

 

I'm not sure exactly why keeping an unstable lunatic away from the button and preventing global destruction is considered treason. Of course working with the Russians, paying them off to get a fix in on the election is just usual Sunday school behavior.

 

Working with the Chinese is Okay, just business as usual .
