Well, the percentage of support might be overestimated. The Quinnipiac poll has approval at 33% and the Pew Research Center has it as 29%. The Realclear Politics average includes the Rasmussen polls, which always show more Republican support than anybody else's. But still, it's surprising there is still that much support for Trump. I think it's a cultural thing: between 1/3 and 2/5 of the population seems to have a different concept of patriotism and what being American is all about.

It's a new day dawning...but just dawning. Lotta work to do. I hope a year from now we're all back at our jobs not having to wear masks anymore. I hope our relationship with other countries is restored and we've taken the first steps to repair the environment. I hope the Trump supporters have chilled out and realized we're not a bunch of GODDAMN COMMIES and groups like the Proud Boys have disbanded due to lack of interest.

As for abortion politics, I don't think he has to like abortion. But is there a different option? I don't think their is... Even with abortion, overpopulation will kill or displace everything in who knows how long.
