It is the details in which the Bible tells of the return that makes the prophecies so remarkable....

Here are just a few fulfilled in 1948:

Back when Mark Twain great American novelest was in the Middle East he happened to pass by Jerusalem. He said poor Jerusalem, never to rise again. He talked about how the place back then was nothing more than a swamp. Yet if he had read his Bible, he would of known it would just be a matter of time before millions of Jews would be returning there. Israel use to be two kingdoms with two leaders. Yet the Bible stated that when they return it would nolonger be two kingdoms but one, and they would have only one leader. And that is as Israel is today. Just as the Bible said it would be. The Bible also said the East gate would have a porch on it, and the porch would remained sealed. And that is how we find the East Gate in Jerusalem today. Just as the Bible said.

How are people defining the term "Jew" here. The modern Israeli government seems to define it as anyone who has a trace of Jewish ancestry and is not a Christian or Muslim. It seems ludicrous to argue that agnostic "Jews" of mixed ethnicity from the US or Russia have a right to displace Semitic Christians and Muslims whose families have lived in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank for centuries.

These people are so worried about "proving" the bible that they don't even care how they come across as christians. The bible asks christians to be an example, not to alienate non-believers by acting like pompus jackasses and wanna-be prophets.

But hey, you are in charge of whatever example you set, and you can't always blame "Satan" for the fact that some people just don't seem to like christians...

This is ridiculous. You say "it doesn't matter how it came about, all that matters is that it happened, as the Bible said it would."

If the Bible said that on April 23, in the 2005th Year of Our Lord, a person shall drop a potato - and someone drops a potato tomorrow - that doesn't validate the prophecy. A potato will be dropped somewhere in the world tomorrow whether or not the Bible said so.

In fact, here you go: I prophecy that tomorrow night I will sing "Beautiful Day" by U2. Want to see if it happens? Come to Buffalo. I guarantee that it will.

Or how about this - What if I read somewhere that "at the end of time, a profiteer shall create pillows in the likeness of sexual organs," and then I go and make pillows that resemble penises. I'm fulfilling the prophecy simply because it serves my needs. The person who wrote the prophecy didn't KNOW that it would be fulfilled someday, just as the people who wrote the Bible didn't KNOW that Israel would someday be recreated - they simply hoped that it would, and the Allies chose to fulfill that prophecy as a conscious act, because it had been with them since their childhood and it served their ends.

Furthermore, this is HARDLY the end of days. All you doomsayers can sod off.

Sera, you look for every chance to slam Christians. And you say we are bad acting Christians if we take are faith seriously. We realize that millions will burn in hell because of their rejection of Christ. Christians here are not doing a stand up comic act. We are hear to speak the truth. And like you really care about Christians alienating non-believers. The fact is you have been fighting hard for the other side for a long time now. And I do blame Satan, and I also blame those who follow him. And they are easy to pick out of the crowd, because they are the one's who are alway's attacking Christians. They are the mockers, and the haters of Biblical truth. They are filled with darkness and no light. They find no joy in the things of God. They are the living dead.

Jesus Christ fullfilled over 300 Old Testament prophecies to the letter. Did He have to fulfill 400 for you? So the Allies made sure that the Old East Gate would be buried 400 years ago, and a New East gate would be built on top of the Old one, and the New East Gate would be sealed up, so that 400 years later when the Jews returned, that would help fulfill just one of the many prophecies. And the Allies made sure that when the Moslems tried to break through the Gate they would fail on both attempts. Oh, and the Allies were all talking about prophecy, and that is why they let the Jews return. You know, I think you missed a couple of history classes.
