Although I'm not acquainted with a large amount of their discography, I absolutely love these guys. I listen to them just as fervently as other great R&B/soul/funk music of that era (i.e. Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, P-Funk, many others). Their slow jams are just so damn slick and intense. Absolutely stunning production, arrangements, vocals...the whole mix just astounds me. I have a vinyl copy of "The Heat is On", and love the contrast between the funkier side 1 and the baby-making ballads of side 2. What do you all think of them? I will admit too, that I first heard a lot of these songs in their sampled inclusions as 90s hip-hop tracks. I enjoy some of that stuff, but it's just nothing like the originals that were sampled (or stolen, if you prefer...lol). Just like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre owe an enormous debt to George Clinton, Ice Cube and Biggie Smalls definitely made a big profit off of these wonderful R&B tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRWtvbyprgo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glhdcJ7K3XM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23W3wqAvsLg
