Great that you overcame it. I always thought you were a writer, as you do write well. I can imagine you in sales as well, and have a vision of what you look like, you are yourself on here. You don’t pretend to be anything other than who you are not. I like that about you. Clearly you have a strong mind too, overcoming addiction is a really hard thing to overcome, a life long struggle. . Really impressive. Not to mention you are quick witted . Great at problem solving too, which comes with the keen mind, wit and intelligence. I am not buttering you up or anything, just being honest here. These are things I noticed about you in your words.

when you have to get up, be presentable for others, care for yourself, you, meaning everyone, takes care of themselves.

 

Sales was a means to an end. The IT market was being disassembled and packed with guys who worked for less than half what I was paid. I'm still amazed at how fast a career I invested a decade into was devastated over the course of 3 years and 4 layoffs. For a short while I built or painted show props, then I made aircraft parts, then boat repair.

It was 4 years after I quit being a speed freak that I got into writing for a living. And that's just because I have an uncanny talent for reading thousands of pages of boring shit and writing a simplified version for CEOs and field technicians alike. I wrote a lot when I was an IT nerd, but it was only a small part of the job. Mainly to keep clients from wasting my time.

The only work of fiction I have written completely is published here, in the writer's forum. I wasn't interested in trying to score a buck from it. I left my greed behind long ago. Probably why I never became a republican!

 

if you were in Canada, you would just vote and hope for the best. Purely right wing center here now. I have voted all across the board here, but can’t go left as I have seen what they have done to people like me and canadians who have been open and welcoming. Taken for granted and used, huge taxes imposes as everything declines. Americans want it, they don’t know what they are agreeing to. Left is right and right is left. Keep peoples head spinning, keep them confused so they don’t know what is up and what is down. Make them worry about everything but themselves, or think they are about everyone else. I think it's amazing how so much of the planet has fallen for this left right shit. Both are just neat packages based on a not so detailed analysis of human personality types. It's very much like astrology, only compressed and factionalized. I refuse to bite one of the extreme hooks. I vote either way according to the candidate and how much I can buy their pitch. I've made some serious errors over the years, like voting for Perot which split the vote and handed the presidency to the Clintons. Then there was those 2 votes for Obama, even though I was certain he was a racist and neo-commie puppet. It didn't matter because he was not the Clintons, McCain or Romney.

I also voted for Trump though I favored Bernie early in the game. I just wanted someone who wasn't establishment or the Clintons. I also thought Trump was pulling a Montgomery Bruster and didn't take him seriously. But then, he said something that made me realize he was serious. I have to paraphrase (because stoned + Gin & Tonic because wife says I must ingest quinine) but the gist of it was that he saw his way of life coming under attack, from people he supported.

So I think there may be a betrayal aspect to all of this. And I think the whole impeachment show was a return message of "how dare you refuse to take a beating from us".

 

I care about my friends , and people who have the intelligence to isolate right now , you don't need to hang around the burger joint , or church , or with a crowd of people . if you need something you should have kept some in storage , pantry or wherever . if you are too stupid to listen to what doctors are saying or you just want to die , be my guest , just don't try to take anyone else with you.

It is really strange that the left doesn't want to say who they care about. It is a simple question. Weird that this question can’t be answered Honestly by those on the left. Yes, tell that to my mom who while in the hospital, really sick, had been patient and waiting for pain relief meds after surgery, it was hours overdo and she was in a lot of pain. I was standing there with her and she said, excuse me, I am in a lot of pain, been waiting for hours, can I get it now? The nurse snapped, we have a sick baby with a cold here, who is more important, you or that baby? So don’t tell me or talk to me about good healthcare system. It sucks balls here and costs us a lot more than yours is with subpar care. That is what the left has brought about,

I just love the way THE RIGHTIES twist things around. They claim America is a Capitalist Christian nation and they hate immigrants, colored, and others who need government services. These Righties claim they are model American citizens and consequently only they have the right to use Freedom of Speech in America. They claim the Bill of Rights is reserved for their own Model American type. All others need to step aside or just go back to where they had come from. And oh by the way, these Righties think they can go to another man's country like Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Panama, El Salvador, Grenada, and Libya. There they think they can kill the Natives and steal their oil. And naturally, they think the Natives who happen to be Brown, Black, and non-Christian, possess no right to object to what these White Christian Model Americans wish to do in another's country. Domestically, these Model White Christian Americans think they can go around America's cities and grab women by their private parts while dishing out insults to colored men who want a job. When finished with the grabbing of women, they tell the colored men that equal opportunity laws are a sign of socialism and thus unwelcome in America. You see, only these White Christian Model American men deserve the fine good paying jobs which offer a high wage and health insurance.
