Yeah nothing about right wing politics has a academic backing. College is only for liberals because it's where through economics and science why things are they way they are. A college dorm is where people mingle. The town where you grew up had 300 kids in the high school. People are just exposed to new ideas and Conservationism does not allow new ideas. Society is always changing and they always have to fight it. Growing up it was always the right wing evangelical types of people who were offended by everything. All the edgy jokes in movie and good music was bad because they did not like it, Then somehow they flipped that label onto their rivals for having empathy. It's bad for have "feelings" for kids in cages. Now, they just operate in an almost cult like world. I don't want to over use the term but yeah to truly be one of those Trump Republicans you are in a cult. Science can't exist in a cult.

North Korea is a dictatorship. Venezuela has a large capitalist influence in it's government which actually leads to a select few getting wealthy through at the expense of others. Neither of these is a good example. East Germany is a result of the USSR a failed socialist country.

Humans are not perfect and dictatorships came from these examples but North Kora is "democratic". And there are SO many more examples of socialism working.
It is "real socialism" as you call it in Norway, Finland, Netherlands, really any European country. Norway is the best place in the world according to the alt-right. You would think they would hate it. High taxes, religious freedom (even to Muslims), feminism is everywhere, and strict laws on gun ownership.

I like to use that country as an example because the alt-right both loves and fears it. Great for race bad for everything else. Also they have several socialist political parties that want high tax on imports to the country and extra social attention on immigration. They are very "Republican" yet they would also endorse much of Sander's platform.

 

First of all there is a difference between a totalitarian government and an "ism" economy.
The USSR, China, and North Korea are/were dictatorships under the guise of communism, and there have been dictators that fall under the guise of capitalism, think Pinochet, the Shah of Iran, Saddam Hussein. You know the dictators supported by the US, but you knew that, didn't you?

We were in Norway a few years after 9/11 and were impressed with democratic socialism in action. At that time the National government supported religion, but didn’t have enough Muslims to support a mosque. I have often wondered if state support eventually applied to Islam. Any Norwegians on Hipforums?
