It was the teabag republicans that came up with the scandal to make Obama look bad. Obama doesn't keep up with every little thing that every agency does. There are heads of agencies that are supposed to do that. The cons weren't interested in if liberals were getting targeted, they just wanted to start shit. Now it's come back to bite them in the ass.
The I.R.S.'s job is to investigate tax fraud. There are both libs and cons that try to cheat on their taxes by claiming tax exempt status. Only those that are guilty of tax cheating would whine about it.

But the whole point of the scandal was that conservative groups where being unfairly targeted. It seems to me that if Liberal groups were being equally targeted then they would have just said so in the first place. I mean wtf? Why let it turn into a "scandal" if there wasn't any funny business. Didn't the IRS publicly apologize also? Why? If they were doing nothing wrong why admit and apologize? Why wait weeks and then come out and clear things up? Do they not even know what they're doing themselves?

Was there another unconstitutional law passed that they needed a distraction for?

Abolish the IRS !!!!! As a "right wing extremist" , this has been our mantra for years. Why are y'all such slooooooo learners? Fueling the current islamo-socialist regime should not be the responsibility of the working citizenry !!!!! Let's all watch barry and michelle line dance?
