Pointing out the flaws in another's judgement is not caring or not caring it just is. You determine what I say to have your meaning, your naggin'. I simply say it is. Slappin' a label on something creates intrinsic value. Intrinsic value creates rules, rules create exceptions, exceptions create ideals etc etc. However many walls of Truth you need is your choice. I just choose to not climb those walls again. As evidence I labeled a group of folks & here you are prepared to defend that group. I created rules you desired exceptions therefore you replied.

Well, you know the old saying:

Smile and the whole world smiles with you, drop the brown acid and the electric purple triangles in the sky grow infinite points and gnashing teeth while the scarlet dragon rises up from the storm drain, wow! so scarlet! blows yellow-green fire on your paisely skin turning it do a ghastly bubbling brown that smells strangely like burning toast just like the one you just placed on the stove a few minutes ago, or was it 20 or 30 minutes but it doesn't matter because you stepped out the door when you realized there was an emerald path to the sun just beyond your yard, but it is dark and there are lights coming at you one after another that sound just like honking car horns...

In all honesty. my philosophy supports such ideas to an extent. And I would argue that there is truth to it. But there are several problems. First of all it implies that if you are always positive and good that nothing bad will happen to you, which then suggests the narrative that bad things do not happen to good people, followed by, if bad things happen to you then you are bad. (Or as my sister would say, 'If only you had Jesus in your life..."). Second of all is the fact that your ability to shape your reality is hindered both by your beliefs versus trends and actions already in place and the overall beliefs, intentions, and other aspects of those around you.

I have seen it work myself---there are days where I have felt very good, and gone out in the world with a smile, and strangers respond in kind; good things happen. And this is typically without any verbal communication. But there is no guarantee that is always going to happen, I could go out all happy and be involved in an accident that is not my fault. On the other hand, having a headstrong Filipina wife, there are certainly days I go out in anger and I am pretty certain people clear a path for me. A bad day is often filled with all kinds of bad things. I have certainly observed similar things play out in group dynamics---how one person can change the mood of a group. Sometimes it is verbal, but there is always a nonverbal element to it. My oldest stepson is a real dick, and thinks everyone is out to get him. He is very arrogant, but that is part of the ego-denial of his own insecurities. He is abusive, demeaning, and full of anger. He lived in my house for far too many years (and only moved out within the past year--and he just turned 40 this past week). He would come home and you could just watch the anger spread through the house. I have observed him at parties and other things and how he would bring a negative element to such things----not always of course----but enough to provide an interesting experiment in psychology and group dynamics.

My philosophy of Archephenomenalism places the nonphysical mind in a physical realm of radical temporality where physicality lasts within the present moment, no longer than a single space-time position can be maintained for a particle we perceive to be in constant motion. I argue that the quantum wave-field is nonphysical and that quantum information is likewise nonphysical. The mind and nonphysical reality transcends the physical, and most of the physical reality we perceive is mere phenomena resulting from a reality that is not structured in the way we perceive it to be.

If I am right, it should not be surprising that the mind has impact on physical reality in ways we cannot even fathom. In fact, a series of experiments at MIT, that are well-documented and with well published details that allow any one with even the most modest laboratory to repeat the experiments, have conclusively shown that human intention can change physical reality. The experiment was so succesful that the Control experiment had to be separated because it was discovered that it too was being impacted. I have become convinced that we have the power to do just about anything with our current reality. We can heal ourselves, we can change our shape, we can control the world around us... By 'can' I mean that we have that potential, or that there is a very deep aspect of our mind that has the ability to do such things.

Theoretically we can 'think and grow rich.' Theoretically we can shape the reality around us so that everything is groovy and everyone is cool. Theoretically I can make a third arm and hand appear out of my stomach. Does this mean that I can realistically do this? It is very unlikely. We can only change our reality to the extent that we authentically know we can---that is, that we authentically believe we can. We cannot fake such a belief--it must be authentic. This generally means that it has to reflect a normal flow of events, a normal causality. We have to see it as rationally likely and natural. Because if it doesn't we will have doubts and will not be able to authentically believe it. Therefore it is easier to change the future than the present (I believe that the past is set in stone and cannot be changed regardless). The other problem is that you have to be strong enough in your beliefs that you can overcome what other people think, or the reality they are creating and the reality that is already in play in terms of the flow of nature, or the universe as it is. I beleive that we each have that power, as the mind is of a higher dimension than the 3 physical dimensions--but we have to tap into it, and believe it.

There is a reason why our full potential is hidden from us. It is like an old Twilight Zone episode of a gambler who was upset because he rarely ever won. So he ended up in a twilight zone casino where he always won. At first it was great--he loved it. But then after a bit he realized it had gotten boring, until finally he lamented----why should I even gamble anymore? And that is the problem---if we knew that we could shape our reality, then we would use that to always shape our reality, especially to avoid anything bad from happening. And then life would become meaningless for us----why should we even bother to live it?

Therefore we are equipped with an ego that, as Jung stated, filters out all nonessential phenomena that is not connected to our current concscious focus. The ego keeps us here in the physical filtering everything else into the subconscious. But we still tap into this ability. We still have an expectation of how our days will be or how people will react to us and the results are often affirmed. The wealthy stay rich, the poor stay poor and highly succesful people know they will be successful. The saying practice makes perfect, really means that practice creates the belief of a specific outcome. Consider that history is filled with people that wouldn't accept 'No' for an answer and overcame all kinds of odds to become a success---musicians, leaders, business owners, athletes, actors, all kinds of people, and everyone of them will tell you that their success was not an accident. many of them had been instilled with self confidence, but others had to find that on their own. (Even I left college with the belief that I could create my own future---that the choice of what I could or couldn't do was in my hands----my biggest take away from existentialism---and I made it happen as I wanted it---I returned to Japan, refused to do anything other than work in the stock market, became the first ever foreigner to be licensed in a Japanese brokerage firm, and the second ever foreigner to become licensed and registered as a stock broker in Japan. Following my dream I then moved on to become a Securities Analyst at Shearson Lehman, and was a millionaire by the time I was 29. I then met my wife-to-be, a very beautiful Filipina working as a TV actress in Japan, the problem was I was already married... Long story short, I also wanted my life to be an adventure, and it has---I have had several fortunes, I have lost fortunes. and the adventure continues. And I own my decisions.)

But what does this mean for someone promoting the mentality in the OP? While it is unrealistic, most people that achieve such a life where everything is cool and so on and so forth---they have to achieve a balance and not make waves. It is the lesson of a very old wisdom---Lynyrd Skynyrd even sang a song about it. It means a relatively conservative life that is not meant for me. My sister lives a life that is fairly free of problems----they keep negative things out of their life (well---not entirely---they listen to Christian radio where they are indoctrinated on the evils of the world---Trump version). Nope---that's not a life for me.

For most of us, it is a question of accepting the good and the bad. How to accept the bad without expecting it to continue. How to not fall into a mindset where we are perpetuating the negative. Of course, working through grief, such mentalities as shared in the OP probably seem meaningless and annoying. Grief is part of life, and it has to be worked through; lived through. But there too, we have the power to heal ourselves; to accept. Unfortunately though, there is no easy fix for it. A loss is a loss regardless of what we say or do.

And for those New Age hippies----they need to understand that life is good and bad, and the tendency to marginalize one side of it, is that the repressed or marginalized side will come back to bite.

Which by the prevailing cultural reverse logic, means you love hippies and want to be around them, hence your presence here. :)

I mentioned existentialism, but I did not mean to discount the fact that I am a baby boomer and an old hippie-----and that too played into my 'can do' attitude. There was certainly a belief that we can do anything and everything. And we did. It is amazing how much individuals with nothing did at Haight Ashbury---things that shaped a generation, and the world at that time.
