I bought The Hippie Handbook about a year or so ago and I absolutley love it!! I recentley made the Vegan Chocolate Cake, and it was sooo good. It really is an interesting book. I'll have to try and find Dharma Girl!
I have this book & love it! I also have the book she edited called Wild Child which is different stories by women born to hippies & raised in the counterculture. It's an interesting read. Who would've thought she now writes what I guess you would call horror novels?...
my mother (being a hippy from her day in the 60's) found it at a used book store and gave it to me as a joke. Well, lets just say I didn't take it was a joke, I love it <3
the hippie handbook sounds great! I will have to look for a copy. Already have a much bedraggled copy of Living on the Earth which is a wonderful book!! Steal this Book also had some of the same sorts of ideas of eating and living cheaply. peace Delfynasa
I've seen both of these (Hippie Handbook and Living on the Earth) over on Amazon, they're definitely first on my "To Buy If I Ever Get Some Money" list. xD
well thank you. I am definitely going to get the hippie handbook for a laugh and fun. I am seriously interested in living on the earth. I think I might try half.com . I have read wild child, it is amazing, the stories are great.
Living on the earth is basically a bible for me... Before I do anything I want to be natural I consult the book. At least 80% of the stuff I look up is in there.
I bought it at Moes books in Berkeley. If you see The Graduate there's a scene where Dustin Hoffman is sitting in a resturaunt looking out the window and Moes books is in the background across the street. But back to the book. I laughed my ass off having furnished an apartment on big trash day. I think the movie guide in the back is great. The only one on the list I couldn't find was 'The Guru' with Michael York. Peace Out, Rev J
