It was okay, Aja did okay for a remake, but I wish him and other directors would quit make all these remakes and come up with some of there own ideas for once, jezz…
this is his first remake and craven wanted a remake and wanted him to helm it, now hes looking for someone to remake last house on the left (he wants it done)
I've yet to see the remake of Hills, but I own the DVD of the original, which I really liked.... Now I don't think they should remake Last House. That is the original terror/gore movie, pre-dating Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween etc...... it is one of my favorite cult movies, and I think thats how they should leave it... On a side note, the people directly involved with Last house, (Craven and Cunningham) both went on to make Freddy Kruger(Craven) and Jason Voorhees(Cunningham)..... weird
I loved it.. I knew I would love it too. I dunno why, but I get some sort of sick pleasure out of watching movies like this. Hostel was a pleasureable experience for me too. Both movies worth the 8 bucks I paid to see em. Maybe Im fucked in the head, who knows.. I just love movies like this. haha I love how the Democrat pussy turned out to be the most kickass dude in the fucking movie
thats why i didnt like the movie, it wasnt gory enough, they fucking said 'most intense movie ever' it almost got a NC-17 but it fucking blew, had 5 minutes of nice gore thats it. and remake of last house wouldnt be able to be released without being NC17, i mean theres so much rape.
huh... well I was thinking of watching it, but movies that revolve around gore rather than a story actually SUCK.... so I'm changing my mind...
I saw this the night it came out and must say it frightened the shit out of me, which is good on my part as I love a good horror. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, go, you don't know what your missing.
it doesnt revolve around gore and does have a story but it markets itself as something else, as a more intense update of the classic 70s exploitation flick and it claims to almost revive the genre itself, i was expecting exactly that, which is not at all what it is, its just a horror movie with great shock value (if you peed your pants to the ring) so maybe youll like it.
I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. I like the gore though. I thought the people who died was unexpected too, i thought the democrat guy would be one of the first to die, but he totally kicked ass.
Gore just does not do it for me. I go to movies based on what reviewers say and what my friends say as much as anything else.
good luck with that, ive never been able to find a reviewer that i can honestly trust on movies, for example, ebert loves dark city and mulholland drive, SO DO I! but than he also loves spawn and hates batman. Arrowinthehead and Joblo both love great movies, and really shitty movies. go to movies based on selfintrest.
Definately awesome, I wasnt expecting much but i was pleasantly surprised, it made me cringe at a few points and thats hard to do.
The one part that made me laugh was that one guy who laid in that chair the whole time and his fuckin head was huge. My dad and I were joking about popping it like a pimple. Ew, I wonder what would've come out...ugh I love the line when he's like, "Kill the baby," in his raspy voice haha made me laugh
I thought "Hills" was an AWESOME movie and a must-see for any true horror fan...It's better than Hostel in my opinion (which was a good movie in it's own right, but not as terrifying as Hills.)
I consider myself a true horror fan, having familiarized with (among others) italian horror, japanese horror, 70s exploitation, and i think this movie SUCKED, not nearly as bad as hostel blew fucking balls.
