I read the book The Haunting of Hill House about 25 years ago and it was a brilliant piece of horror fiction. but I haven't seen the TV series.

“No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood for eighty years and might stand for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, bricks met neatly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone.”

So good. Best TV horror series I've ever seen by far.

    Luke is my favorite.

I have to watch during the day, though.

Oh this is a thing now. I've seen in it in my Netflix feed. Maybe I should watch and we can have a shared experience.

I watched the first episode. It's not that scary. Could get scarier though. It's pretty entertaining.

Well knowing TV series they're not gonna give you the scary parts in the first episode.

Mind you, I always thought the first episode of walking dead was the scariest. Especially with the half eaten dragging blonde zombie at the end lol.

I laughed at the real scary part in the first episode. Made me jump though.

It doesn't seem scary at the time. Then afterwards...You start thinking.

    Exactly!!!!

    How far along are you?

I watched (episode 5 I think??) "The Bent Neck Lady" last night. Cannot get it out of my head.

The tall ghost with the cane, though, holy fucking shit does he ever scare me. I watched that episode during the day and I was curled up into a ball screaming in fear. I don't think I have ever been that scared of anything fictional on a screen in my entire life. I've watched a lot of horror movies in my day.

    Anyways, glad you kept watching!
