The Government and Katrina

    Tell me how ya'll think about the government and the damages done.....

    Why would they build a city between all that water and not expect all those deaths, when a disaster like that happens.....!!!!

    the scity is a couple hundred years old & started off sa small town that expanded..its not like they just decided to put the city in harms way if thats what your implying

    Yep, and it was around 9 feet above sea level when it was first built (news report didn't specify if that was built as a small town or being built up into a notable city).

    Now, however, if I lived there I sure as hell wouldn't rebuild there... Especially since it will probably be months before anyone can get back in, you may as well start rebuilding in a new place instead of waiting in limbo for who knows how long. I don't get why people insist on building expensive homes on beachfront property... Especially since we are now only early into a cycle (as in 25-30 year cycle) of more frequent and intense hurricanes...

    The united states didnt even originally colonize new orleans..
