I heard that when a cop is pulling you over at a very isolated place or if you are just suspicious then you should call *79 (not sure, but some number) , and tell them that you will pull over, but where there are more people and tell him/her to follow you.

So sorry for your friend :( I hope she stays strong and get all the help she needs.

I remember reading somewhere once that the statistic was like 1 in 3 women will be raped at least once in their life. If that's correct...that's VERY frightening.

I know two WONDERFUL ladies on another board I visit who have both been raped, not only once, but twice in their lives already...and one's only 19, the other only 22.

Y'all just remember to stay safe...and don't be scared...just smart.

I know more people than I can count on my hands that have been raped. Why do people think they can jsut take that from people?

The problem today is that our whole society is revolving around in a giant sex obsessed wheel.

This sex obsessed wheel makes people hunger more for power, lust, hate, anger, revenge and are confused.

I once heard of a survey taken from a university- which should remain unanimous, but there 1 in 3 men said that they would rape women if they were sure they were going to get away with it.

So if you keep quiet after you get raped, then this will give these people an excuse to rape more people...,

its not as simple as the above statement, but atleast people have to try to get them exposed... even the thought of exposing them should exist and its a good thing.

You see 70% of the rapes happen between people who know each other or are acquainted with each other, therefore its hard for a person to come out. However, they can come out and they should , so that it doesn't happen again.

Some of these rape victims actually start to sympathize with the raper, that should never happen, because in this life if a person does a crime voluntarily , then he/she has to suffer.

And yes, there have been cases where women rape younger kids- mostly boys. It is sad how- in America, 25% of rape victims are males below age 18 and one in every 6 boys and one in every 3 girls experience rape sometime in his/her life.

That is the most sickening statistic I have ever heard. I wonder though, what are the rape statistics in other countries?

Yeah, I have wondered that many times...
I think the statitory thing is a bit much in the states.
So many people are 'child rapsits' because when they were 18 they had sex with a 17 year old. But what really sucks, is he is now a 35 year old looking to adopt with his new wife, but UH OH! He 'raped a child.'

I'd like to personally shove the barrel of a shotgun into several rapists mouths like a stick of death and open up. I'm paranoid about shit like that, not even me getting raped but ANYTHING happening and not being ready for it. Thats frightening. I always make sure I have 3-5 possible weapons handy... Just a safty precaution. I'm not suggesting you ladies get guns because god knows how dangerous they can be but perhaps have a stun gun in arms reach of your bed... Mace is another good pocket sized weapon to carry. But be sure you don't just spray them, but you gotta club them in the back of the neck to strike em down. I've been maced by a riot cop. Its harsh but you recover the abillity to do harm very quickly. I steel baton is also a good carry. They come in colapsable form and closed are between only 5-8 inches. With practice you can learn to bring it down in a swing and have it deploy at the same time. These are all legal weapons that can give you time enough to get yourself and others away and to a place you can get help. Rape does not have to happen and you can protect yourself.

Edit: I just remembered one time hearing someone suggest handcuffs to latch the assailent to something stationary. This is not recommended. Handcuffs are extremely easy to avoid and worse yet, turn on the person using them.

I think wits and self defense would probably work better for me then a weapon. I would fear the person using it on me if I had anything and mace it good but have you ever been in contact with that shit it's harsh!!!!!!!

Yes... Police grade mace... not pepper spray... MACE. Its harsh but not harsh enough to render someone totally defenseless. If you mace someone they will have the initial reaction of rearing back in pain and possibly falling over. It will take them only a moment to regain their own wits and strike back. Mace is ok but probably not going to keep you safe. You can outwit a rapist so I have no idea how that even comes into play. "Look over there" wont exactly work

I was talking about the police grade stuff. I didn't know there was a difference. Just being near it after it has been srayedis really harsh. One time they sprayed my dog for no reason in my moms house and I was whiping her eyes and then later I accidently rubbed mine~Yeah ouch

And I've had it directly to the eyes. Its not enough to bring you down entirely. Say the assailent is weilding a bottle like in this instance. He could still manage to cold clock you fairly easy. See my point?
