I actually was disagreeing with you. I am of the opinion that the best way to fight ignorance is not to prohibit free speech. I think it would be more effective to let ignorant people express their opinions and so that we can all point and laugh at them.
Consequences of what actions? It was his opinon, whether we agree with it or not. Besides, he was asked his opinion by a radio interviewer and he said what he felt. So what?
He expressed an unpopular opinion, and it would be foolish to not think that there would be fallout because of that. Just like how he has a right to express himself, people have a right to think he's a jerk for his opinions. (The Dixie Chick effect)
he has the right to say that...i could care less what he truly hates. i have a problem with him apologizing for his true feelings. now for my opinion, i do think less of him for his true feelings. let him say he doesn't want to be around gays, doesn't want them on his team - thats fine. dont' make a PR stunt about it and apologize for what he said when he really means it, makes him look even more of a coward than he already is for his hate
thats all people do these days. they say something hateful and racist and crude and then they go onto tv and apologize. then they go to rehab
well I guess we're both looking at it from the enviroment we work with, I work with very vulnerable people that we have to take care off, if someone is sprouting racist beliefs at work in my enviroment, it could have very damaging effects on the clients. in an office enviroment its unpleasent, but does it go beyond that? S
rehab is the key. apparently they HAD to be high...no on can mock a recovering addict, that's the law.
Captain Lorth Needa While Hardaway did eventually apologize, I can just picture the Gay Alliance as the all powerful Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back "Apology accepted Mr. Hardaway" Hotwater
Not since that whole "Empire Strikes Blacks" fiasco has a more distasteful Star Wars reference been made.
You don't remember the scene in The Empire Strikes Back, when Darth Vader uses the force to choke Captain Needa, after accepting his apology for losing the Millennium falcon Hotwater
you don't see this how hippy ideals and practices are gradually becoming the norm for society? soon with people starting to understand hippy philosophy, maybe congress will pass a law that you have to love everyone or you get arrested and thrown in jail just imagine how beautiful this world would be if everyone loved everyone
