There is no doubt that with the Advent of the human being able to separate the soul and allow teleportation,we are entering an amazing section of history for us to discover again. This will be fun to see how this all plays out,as well as the fall of the ego, that will be a hoot to watch,as humanity losse it's pride and realizes how small we really are!!!
and only then, do we become mature enough to join the rest of the greater galactic community, who have avoided destroying themselves and each other, by arriving at this same maturity. i'm not holding my breath, but inconsiderateness and its various extremes are a choice, and when enough of our species learn to embrace this reality, that is a thing that really can happen.
What would make you think that the galactic community is mature enough to not wage war when every depiction and description humans have recorded of said galactic community have only ever warred between themselves and others?
With belief, not closed minded religion and secular insanity, those with insight need to become the teachers for the advancement of our species. This patient and promising technique has been in play for thousands of generations. We are not the greed of modernity which has been accepted as the norm.we are the very winds for change which has always had and always will have the direction up!!!
I actually find traditional religion a reminder of our humanity.. lol I know... unpopular. & we actually have a thread for unpopular opinions. But since you mention it, I think that a ton can be learned about humans as a species and culture by learning about/practicing religion. That said, I'm an out of practice Catholic. I haven't been to church in a really long time; though I do have spiritual thoughts.
ai's will BE us, if and when that time comes. awareness is awareness, whatever the envilope it inhabits. but children born after the ecopocalypse, and this current plague is only its first shot across our bow, will have pointy ears and fluffy tails, but also bigger brains and less hatred of logic. we can create a future that everyone can enjoy, its by being inconsiderate and hating logic that we have created everything that is wrong with this world now. statistical results of the consensus of our choices, individually and how we choose to direct organizations of combined effort such as governments and industires. yes it is our to create, but what we create by ignorance, indifference, and telling each other what to pretend about what is not known, is what we have now and why we have it. self aware beings who are neither physical nor imaginary are certainly capable of existing and probably do, but don't blame them for what is entirely our own doing, they've had very little if anything to do with it. they make for amusing story telling and maybe even good friends, but the kind world, in the sense of how we treat it and each other, that part of it is entirely up to us and how considerate we choose to be, of all things, and how willing we are to apply logic to doing so.
the unknown is unknown. shelter and infrastructure is ours to build. physical life depends upon diversity of environment, up to us not to reduce that below a level required for the continuation of our own species. if we are souls that have bodies, perhaps cats, and even real a.i.'s, if the latter's day ever comes, as well. we've got some really smart robots now, exploring other planets and places in our solar system. internet servers located in irridium orbits could become the city of the mind. soul i like to think of as identity and identity as perspectives, priorities and preferences. this my have the potential to transend physical existence, where as memories, according to current majority of scientific consensus, appear to not. but then how was i born knowing there would be, or remembering from privious lives, personal computers and devided highways, when i was born in 1948, before either were common enough concepts to be familiar to anyone. we come up with stuff about the unknown because ego doesn't like to accept its ignorance, but whatever we come up with about it, owes nothing to our doing so. could be billions of gods, or anything else, but still owes nothing to what we tell each other to pretend. but the landscapes our priorities create of our environments, with or without our preferences, these we can observe, and learn what reacts and how, to our doing so.
well if it hasn't destroyed itself, it would have to be not to have. there are several ways to easily destroy a planet that there are no ways to defend against. so really therefor. humans are just immature, but if for some reason they refuse or are unable to mature itself, the the galactic community will have to do what it takes to defend itself. and being as matured as it would have to be to have survived itself, it would really rather not have to. and so yes, that is the reason it is keeping an eye on 'us'. of course that doesn't mean there couldn't still be rogue worlds out there too. but they'd have to be an extreme minority to slip through the cracks. also yah, "seperate the soul" makes no sense as a prerequisite to teleportation or anything else. the soul is the self. there's no logical way for it to not be. separate the physical from from the self, maybe that was what was meant. what else is soul but the nature of the self? how else, what else, would it mean for the soul to out survive the physical?
ecopocalypse has only barely begun to show itself. really only the tinyest leading edge, and already people are crying wolf, but very few seem to yet realize, how their priorities are exerbating the problem and increasing its risk. a warning is not a dire pronouncement of doom, but an observation of reality, that need not become more doom then the tipping points it has already passed. i know people love money and love cars and most especially love making more babies then we have too many humans already, i know people would rather be rich then give a fart what happens to their granchildren, but furst of all, it might not even be that far off. and no one has to keep tying to convince themselves they can't have any fun without destroying everything by being careless with what they want and what they do with it. so much of what we take for granted can be done differently then the harmful and distructive way's we're use to doing it. i can see in peoples faces and their words, how little they care what doesn't impact themselves, personally, directly and immediately, but that's just being really ignorant of how the universe we live in actually works. certainly everyone has had some experience with something, that could only have been prevented before they felt it but could have easily been had they been paying attention. and its not like nature isn't trying to get our attention, with fires and floods and pandemics. and that's not the temper tantrum of some invisible hierarchy, but the natural interlocked causilities of how reality works. and it doesn't matter how "big" anyone thinks they are, or thinks we are as a species, in the context of nature just on this earth, and that many near infinite multipliers more for the universe, that's just like a fart in a hurricane. i've said it i've said it i've said it, and yes i know why i keep saying it, because i do want to see humans, the species, grow up, and live to grow up, to become the adults among adults in the universe i know they can be. but the world of hurt, misplaced priorities are choosing, is very real, and very much a choice.
