There are many critics of the food business. In my experience such people have no idea what a complex business the food business is.

Very general statement. Worthless at this point. There's solid and specific criticism and general and unnuanced criticism (kinda like your feedback to them ;)).

My pizza get's here late and I do not care because I only order food to eat. I do not order a slave to beat.

No I meant people who make critical comments about aspects of the food business in general. One reason many restaurants go out of business is they don't understand the dynamics of the business. On one hand there a company reps who push convenience foods, but if you want the good stuff you have to chase the supplier.

I frequently read about what a waste of money organic food is. Why is there not the same level of criticism levelled at breakfast cereals where you pay for air? Another criticism of organic food is it does not produce the volume of food that chemically assisted food does. I live in an area with market gardens. Much land is left fallow because of low prices.

I think if you're consistent in your food then it'll go places. I work in a hostel so I guess the clients pay for however many days and it's paid for the meals too so we don't have to worry about that however in those not allotted meal times people can pay the chef to make food. :) and the Motto is "we don't make fast food, we make good food, fast" is the banner in front of the kitchen.

I dunno what any of that does for this thread but now you know.

Oh, I assumed that you meant the restaurant industry but you mean the larger food business--like farming, etc?

I worked in a ConAgra plant for 7 years. You should see the way chickens are raised; 30,000 of them in one barn, given growth hormone and send to slaughter 6 weeks later.

    I still eat chicken though.

Not entirely - for those who are vegan or vegetarian it may be, but for those of us who are omni-vores it's. not solely the agricultural businesses.

Horticulture is the commercial production of plants.
Agriculture includes horticulture as well as livestock production.
