^^^You are wrong. If anything, they should be much bigger than they are, because unlike most other music acts out there, they're extremely original and actually have something to say. Nickelback is overrated.
Nickelback LOL!! could one even classify that as music? lol...i guess you are right, the lips arent the most overrated band ever (thank you Nickelback lol)...how can people listen to that?..
mmm The Flaming Lips have been bringing me considerable happiness since I first saw them live about 5 years ago. It was a very theatrical and unique show to say the least. pure joy.
I can't believe no one mentioned Hit to Death in the Future Head. I seriously think it's better than Transmissions from the Satellite Heart. It's a lot more grungy and punky with the fuzziness of the guitars but still with that quirky pop edge they let out more on the next few albums after.
Love the Lips. I got into them when I was probably 13 or so- if not for them I wouldn't have gotten into a lot of the music I like now. Still waiting to see them in concert, though :/
Haven't seen them live, but I'm in love with the Yoshimi album. Has their Mars thing been released yet? I heard a snippet and I like it so far. Not too far from what they're known for, but hey, if it's good why knock it?
Oh the Flaming Lips are amazing! I simply love ALL their albums. The documentary about them and Wayne Coyne ( Fearless Freaks) is quite dandy too. I saw Flaming Lips front row center at a beach festival this summer and it was one of the most amazing times of my life heres 2 pictures i took ( sorry about the size!) Wayne was setting up before the show, which impressed me, not many artists do that these days.
