Breakfast anyone ???

 

Fishing has slowed to a crawl. I already put some stuff away for the year. So far I only broke one fishing pole. It was my ultra light. Snapped it when I got snagged.

 

Its all them French trawlers pinching all our fish !!!

 

Get a Centre Pin and a proper rod Yoda.

 

I've seen fishing videos from the UK. People love not minding their own business and try to berate over people fishing.

So true. I'm done with ultra lights

 

At the moment I am getting fish for nothing, bad enough but I do not know what the fish are let alone how to cook them, Sea fish, turbot, monkfish, halibut, scallops, squid....help

 

You need a VERY** sharp knife to cut them open and gut them and remove the bones, then you can either dip the fillets in batter and fry them or place them on a piece of foil, add a knob of butter, wrap them fairly tightly in the foil and place in a warm (180 o C ) oven for approx 25 - 30 mins - serve with appropriate vegetables and potato.


** Be careful and mind you don't manage to cut your fingers or hands.

 

Thanks Vlad, I do have an unused, sharp as a razor filleting knife and a steel mesh glove, but the thought of messing about doing it is not getting me excited. Might tell friends not to bring anymore.

I've been ready to start fishing. Damn winter won't go away

 

Same here matey, weatherman says we're due rain turning to sleet or snow later - Brrrrrrrrrr !!!

The one night I worked late. It was in the 70's. I'm going to start bringing my fishing rods with me to work again.

 

Our lakes are froze tight yet.

 

Mine are still under 4 feet of snowpack.
As is my yard and garden.

 

I believe it! We get pretty cold here in MN... but it's not Alaska! Our snow is mostly gone
