    They can all Fox off!

    Headline on HuffPo UK now-

    Isn't that what usually happens?

There were loads in tesco a couple of hours ago. All over the shop they were.

    Oh, and here's another thing?

Why is the headline from the new HuffPo UK site linking directly to a sky news article?

Yes, Steve Coogan and a few others seem to be saying that NotW has been run at a loss for years now. It's not just Fox propping the Murdoch empire up, though, his media reaches 3/4 of the world's population!

Give up Fox? Do you really think our brain dead generation will give up their family guy or american dad or the simpsons? No way will they, some people base their lives on that shit. They'll bitch and moan and boycott everything they wouldn't usually buy/watch anyway but there are some mainstays in the fox network that are there for a very good reason. Seth Manfarlane is such a fucking greedy fame whore, man that guy pisses me off with his brain-numbing, mass distracting inane shows. American dad is so annoying especially because it highlights all sorts of fucked up and criminal activity by the powers that be but everyone's just ha ha haing at it. I'm actually raging, I better end this rant now.

It's now emerging that Gordon Brown was targeted by The Sunday Times, another paper owned by News International.

    More Crap Hitting the Fan!
A US based private investigator has reported that he was contacted by NotW reporters and asked to get phone numbers and personal details about 9/11 victims, particularly any British nationals.

So now the scandal reaches US shores, and 9/11 victims! Holy Shit. Let's see how all those right winger war mongers deal with this shit. Oh, wait, they had little sympathy for the firefighters who got sick after 9/11, remember...

Then again they may never even know about it. Fox News seems to have a total blackout on this news scandal!

I read ONE STORY, buried in their online business section, about how the BskyB takeover was being threatened by a scandal and how nice Rupert Murdock is to submit the takeover to the Competition Commission. That's it. No mention of what the scandal is even about! And trying to make News Corp out to be a good guy! I checked the NY Post and they had one paragraph buried in their business section on how NotW published its final edition.

    Great journalism Fox News!

And yes both the Sun and the Times are both involved in this mess that may bring down News International!

News Corp's takeover of BSkyB is to be refered to the competitions commission, so they can say it isn't within their power to stop it from going ahead, shifting the blame away from the government for being the useless twats that they are... probably, but let's hope not.

Fuckers will find a way somehow. It's getting more and more difficult to brain wash society now that everything is out there on the internet though...

I forgot to mention that a group of big shareholders is suing News Corp over this scandal, saying the company should've done much more to investigate and stop the hacking, instead turning it into a public relations mess that threatens the company's well-being.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...ke-early-action-on-phone-hacking-scandal.html

The lawsuit is filed in Delaware, which again brings this scandal to the USA, and on News Corp's (not News International's) door.

I hope all News Corp shareholders lose BIG TIME. That includes the Mideast consortium that owns a big share.

Fuck them and their investments and their politics.

Remember folks, the BIGGER THEY ARE, the HARDER THEY FALL!

Ah hah! I thought so. Here we go. Anonymous is gonna hack the Metropolitan Police for their involvement in phone hacking and their treatment of Julian Assange! Seems like they've already hacked into News International and got some juicy emails they're gonna release!

Hugh Grant is on Newsnight now BBC2. Big story on the Murdoch case. Just had a clip of Gordon Brown claiming that they were involved in criminals. Cameron is going to make an announcement to the Commons tomorrow and apparently the two planned enquiries are going to be rounded into one. Conspiracies are flying that the government dug this story up in revenge to the press for uncovering their fraudulent expenses scandal.

    A weird first post perhaps.

The subject of this thread is what drives my raison d' etre, that is, to understand..

As you may see by the post below that I think is particularly relevant to this thread,
I like head games as well as crosswords;)

    Kosher or kebab?

    Headline News

    Now Drugs scandal

    Archduke Smote

Work it out and maybe you can get a laugh out of this sad affair.

Looking on the brighter side this could be the start of something for the good for the majority.

    A spot of reality.
    Perhaps

And The Scottish Sun's front page story is about how they didn't access Gordon Brown's sons medical records, they were given to them by his dad. As if that gets them off the hook, eh...

    Rebekah Brooks just resigned.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14166162

Oh yeah? Maybe he should take a leaf out of her book and fuck off as well...

She and the Murdoch's will be appearing in front of the Commons Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee next week (July 19th) to answer questions. The Murdoch's initially said they couldn't make it, but were told- you're making it.

I think it is going to be broadcast live in the UK and abroad as well.

Meanwhile the FBI are investigating claims NewsCorp hacked into victims of 9/11.

    Eight challenges facing NewsCorp-

Good for you! I mean that.

It will take some extra muscle to pull his roots out of this country, but I'm fairly sure that people no longer have sentiment for anything with this guy's name on it.

I'm glad that you guys don't have to deal with the filth, If that keeps up for a decade or so...I'm fairly sure across the water is where I would like to raise a family.

I hope they order him to so many court appearances that he dies just getting to and from the proceedings. A bit dark but hey, I REALLY don't like this guy. Or what he stands for.

While the buck stops at Murdoch, there is always the chance that he didn't know about it. He has so many companies that one might think its hard to regulate every thing that goes on within them.

But, who knows, maybe this is the type of behavior he promotes from above. If so, I hope it falls apart. All evil men deserve to fall from grace.

I'm not so sure. Maybe they didn't know a lot of the details of what was going on, but they certainly must have known that much of what they published was being obtained through questionable methods of investigation. They probably just didn't reckon on a shit storm like this happening, or even that innocent every day people might get hurt.

It's an organisation that is rotten to the corp, but they are no better or worse than the police and the government. They are all implicated in this, as are to an extent the people who regularly by these newspapers.

I think it is possible though that they knew all this was going to come out eventually, and that this is in part a publicity stunt to help them retain whatever credibilty they had.

I'm still slightly suspicious of the timing with the launch of HuffPo.co.uk.
