The End of Modern Civilization

Every civilization so far has failed we will not be the first to survive. We are doomed to failure due to our greed and inability to learn from our mistakes!

 

At this point there are so many ways the world could end by the hands of man or nature, it's basically pot luck what kills us all first.

My guess would be a mixture of all the above.

Climate change and global warming would first contribute to the evolution of more virulent viruses. Then when a vaccine is made, due to the widespread misinformation and general conflicting opinions of COVID 19, people refuse to get vaccinated (and continue to believe it is just a common illness that would go away). This, in turn, would allow the virus to mutate and fester into a super virus (with a death rate far higher than that of COVID) resistant to anything we throw at it. This ends up as a plague far bigger than anything that had come before it. The world's hospitals are overwhelmed and the disease spills out on the streets. This leads to a collapse in the world's economies that plunges us into a deep depression/recession like the world has never seen.

With the world in chaos, uncontrollable disease, collapsed economy with widespread crime and looting rife. The government's only distraction is to start an argument with another country to provoke a war. This leads to the next big world war annihilating the majority of the world's population...

...and everyone lived happier ever after.

 

Where can I buy tickets for this one?

 

Will we see Russia fire nukes? Putin may not give up, plus he is talking with China.

 

Every method of killing has so far been used--including nukes. I'm pretty sure that they will be used again--probably through an AI mistake. If the chaos that ensues because of the effects of global warming doesn't get us first.

 

When The Nation can no longer borrow its way to happiness, the risk of war increases with our bankruptcy..

 

If that's the case the END may be closer, than we think.

 

Now there is talk of China taking action against USA. And never know about N. Korea.

 

The only thing modern about our society are the medical advances, the scientific advances, the democracy that we are now in danger of losing,etc.. Otherwise, many of our citizens have shown that we are not much different than our ancient ancestors. Humans are consistently proving to be a sorry lot.

 

There will be no more history.... oops....it wasn't necessary, just famous.

 

I feel like we are moving closer to WWIII. It may not be the END, but it won't be good
