Every American should be ashamed of leaving 13 marines to die in Afghanistan. So much for no man left behind!

Not to mention the Afghanis and their families who'd worked for us. Sure some made the trip, but a lot didn't. Seems like the 'negotiators' could have said something like, "This is going to take us three more weeks, then it's all yours." If that didn't work, "Remember, we're watching from the sky, and if your people break the agreement, we have missiles."

I really don't think the problem, as it's now being blamed on, was with 'this president's administration'. It was more what the military brass told him and their over-confidence in their ability to deal with civilian issues and actual logistics. Like, "It's ok, we got this." And they didn't.

Scary thought!!!!! If anything happens to Biden?? Kamala steps in, then Nancy. I know Biden's not running the show, but I see chaos.

Other countries laugh at our leadership.

Americans are too fickle anymore to care. They are more worried about supporting boy's playing on girls' sports teams then military men and women losing their lives due to incompetent leadership.

i don't see this as making any sense. kamala and nancy are just as competent as anyone on the planet, and more so then nut jobs like chump, or jordan or that goofy green woman.

what they laughed at was chump's infantile narcissism.

what's scarry are chumps knuckle dragging brown shirts, the loud toys and oath breakers. and those q-a-nut loonies.

civilization does not however, remember civilizationn, that was supposedly the subject, begin and end with the u.s., its influence, nor nations in any form as we think we know them.

the existence of physical infrastructure is an aspect of it, in one sense and part, but even that isn't the core or essence. preventing the illogical and insane tyranny of the dominance of aggressiveness is.

Boys playing on girls teams. Men in fight with woman. Yes that should be enough to tell us something is very wrong!

the species is in danger from itself, but NOT from the universe owing nothing to what humans tell each other to expect or pretend.
change is the one constant, and we can change from praising increase of an already bloated population, or accept the natural correction of famine and disease.
diversity also is a thing the however narrow some of us might wish, continuation of existence depends upon.

more then 90 percent of everything is mineral.
all of life is its guest.
90 percent of life isn't us, we're its guest also.

whatever i say, whatever any human says, the universe, which is almost all mineral, is going to go right on doing and working the way it actually does,
not the way any of us want or want to think it does, whatever silliness about girls and boys and beliefs.

no offense to great story tellers, but i'd rather see with my own eyes and imagine with my own imagination.

the planet will continue going around the sun, no matter what humans do to themselves or life on its surface.
so its a little bit more then the end of the so called civilization we never had, but a whole lot other then the end of the physical lump of rock that is the planet itself.
and the point too many people miss is that its a choice, and not some fantasy religious choice either.
it the choice to stop being inconsiderate of anything that doesn't look like what we see in the mirror because we've somehow convinced ourselves its more important to try and impress each other (what the hell does "thrive" mean if your dead, along with your entire species?), or enjoy the world we could create by not doing so.
a world where transportation and other uses are powered by incident energy from rooftops and windswept ridges and the ebb and flow of weather and the sea, instead of converted from fuels in a centralized location and everything having to be about tokens of symbolic value.
now just because its too late to avoid all the pain, we're already feeling some of it, a tiny sample of what we've already inflicted on ourselves by the idea of having a bigger piece of the pie then the next guy, doesn't mean there isn't a whole world of wonder and happiness to be gained, be being more considerate of nature and realities diversity.
for one thing, there's the continued existence of the species, which in our real mineral universe's scheme of things, is entirely optional.
gods floating down out of clouds, or willful destruction in an infantile fit of anger, while not impossible, the far more immediate threat, is the one that is in our own hands, and created by ill considered priorities.

Resource depletion, runaway anthropogenic climate change and the Anthropocene Mass Extinction Event will create mass famine and displacement, causing wholesale economic, societal, and population collapse.
People who are alive today are about to discover Malthus was right.

It seems that the main purpose of most of civilization now is to convince people to buy manufactured objects. The resources taken from the earth to manufacture those objects are and have been depleting said resources. Of course, they will eventually run out. School purpose: to enable those who partake, better positions to obtain the manufactured goods. Not for the importance of learning how to improve the lives of much of humanity or for just the joy of learning. What is the importance relative to the continued existence of all species extant? Depends on whether one thinks it important for sentience to exist in the present form on this planet. IE: Oh well. We had a good run for a while there. OR: the way collective humanity views the possibilities of MAJOR changes to the way governments , citizens of the world and most importantly---the most successful of those that have gained the power of obtaining the most objects ---view that which is necessary for a long term run. Otherwise--IMO---shit is coming down on all of us. But remember: BUY MORE. BUY MORE NOW.

the burning irony is that we don't have to live in grass huts and eat acorn oatmeal to avoid screwing ourselves.
we just need to get out of the habit of doing so and calling it a good thing.
we can still have some toys. the ones we actually enjoy playing, exploring and making things with. even electrically powered ones.
we just need to get a whole lot smarter about how we make them, what we use them for, and get rid of trying to impress each other by what we can acquire,
instead of what we can learn how to make for ourselves. we can even have peepee tingle without trying to see how many more of us we can make.

    To answer the OP.............greed/finance/economics/energy/ect ect.........:D.

I just think with current financial structure(worldwide) and the economics going with that,is going to collapse, sooner or later. I dont think we are all going to die,it really depends on how geopolitics(politicians*sigh*) react, after it happens.

doomsday is environment and the current house of cards of tokens of symbolic value is not cast in concrete nor epoxy.
and yes people are, unfortunately already dying from our misplaced priorities which has an excessive human population crowding out species diversity
which, regardless of the details, is why we have this current pandemic,
which is only a sample of what is in store if we don't stop calling hatred of logic in the service of universal consideration the mandate of a god or gods.
