Hi everyone my name is Emmy and my dreads were born today! Actually they aren't even fully done I am doing them myself and there is still a bit at the back left to do.
Thanks for all the great info I found on this forum, before I found this site I was about to make an appointment to get them done at a salon (shock horror!) but learned better.
It's great to find a group of like-minded individuals!
also I am 28 and currently reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Hi everyone! I am Gerri and I will reach my 1 year dread anniversary in 2 days. It has been interesting to say the least. I started with hair down to my waist and it is now at my shoulders. Freaked me out a little! Has anyone else had that much shrinkage? Other than that, I LOVE my hair.

 

Hi new people, derJude, I had hardly any shrinkage... but my hair was only 6 or 7 inches when i started. Welcome to the site.

Hello everyone! Been lurking in these forums for quite a while, figured I would join up and introduce myself. My dreadies will be a year old next month. I started them at about 3-4 inches and even after a year my longest one is only about 6 inches. What a long road! But if this journey has taught me one thing, its PATIENCE!

hey Im Michael, or Brian, dont mind which used both me entire life... Im 18 from Mexico and currently on my second set of dreads had to ge thte first one removed cause of school and had the set for a glorious three days which only makes it hurt worse

tis complicated to explain interests and such so I wont...
