Merhaba. I'm new here- live in Ankara and I'm a Mom to four kiddos. My dreads are a week and one day. I begged pleaded and lied to my friends to get them over and make them backcomb my hair for hours and hours last Saturday. I was afraid they were all falling out after I washed them with ACV but now they're tightening up and look nearly like actual dreads. (As opposed to last week when I walked around looking like a mess without purpose each day). Now it's clearly an intentional mess!

Hi all....I have been going natural for lets see, 4 days. :p I am wanting to go natural with my dreads. See what my hair does when it's free. The feeling of not doing anything with it is awesome.

hi, i got my dreads about two weeks ago... i used to have some natural ones but they got conditioned out before their first birthday... so i have done them again as i have a good job where dreadies are no problem! here are some pics of them new if i can get this thing to work right.. :p i joined this forum because it seems to be the most diverse and informative among the rest!

i had started with wax, but the read about it and realized wax wasn't going to help, just hurt... i've been using an aloe/lemon combo... i really don't want candles inside my hair in a year!

i backcombed them to speed up the process, because i work for the postal service as a transitional employee that has to rehire every 6 mo.

ok if u used wax look through the wax remocal thread it was combined with the deep cleanse threasd so u will have to read a few pages to get to the wax removal part ..but id do a good wax removal even if u think most is gone already
youd be amqzed atyt how hard it is to get out.. so im bettin u still got some deep in there

but ya lkook like theyre commin along beautifuly ;:)

hey everyone, im Jimmy...had my dreads for 10 months now and i did them myself by back-combing.
i made the mistake of using wax at first though but thanks to
soaringeagle i found out the damage that shit causes, now im letting them grow natural

a friend did my hair last year, beginning of summer. no wax DEFINITELY! good thing he was knowledgeable in this definitely-never-no-wax thing.

just two months later I had to cut them, but I keep them in a bag; hoping I'll get them back :) I also have some very long hair tied nicely (from the previous haircut I had) my friend promised he'll also add them. so one day I can come back with more than double-this length dreads, who knows :)

by the way, anybody has any comment on how should I store the dreads and hair I keep? nothing bad happened to them in many years but still.. :)

    shine on!
