Hello everyone! I'm Aqueous and i'm quite new to this forum....
Two days ago i decided to comb my dreads, after 4 years of wanting them ^^ So i grabbed a comb and did them all myself, 58 little tangly ones...

this is when i just had combed them

I had hair down to my waist before i did them.... now some of them barely reach my ears, lol. It's quite strange, actually i dont know why... but when i had combed maybe 2 or 3 decimetres there was just some single hair left with original lenght, so now they look crazy, being really tight some centimeters, then some sewing threads down to waist ... ^^ Anyway, hi all, you seem like a bunch of nice people! :)

Hey Everybody. My name is HavePatience. I had dreads for two years. I cut them off two years ago, and haven't cut my hair since. I have combed and washed and conditioned, however. But, that will stop very soon, as I am back combing my next set very soon. I wish I could go all natural, but my compromise with society is to keep them maintained and manicured. By the way, I call my girlfriend 'society' sometimes.

So I'm 21, I've been an English Teacher in China, I've designed my own major at my university that I affectionately call "Applied Philosophy," I am a dedicated and devout Buddhist, and I take laughing at myself way too seriously.

I'm also highly addicted to computer games, I am prone to procrastiation, and there are some days where a nap under an oak tree seems far more important than a class deconstructing Marx's Capital.

I'm excited to begin this journey shortly after discovering this community. Locks are a journey, with ups and downs, wonder and suffering, and it is wonderful to share your trials and lessons with a group that is experiencing similarly.

I hope that we get to know each other! I will post shortly with some pictures of the before and the process, so that I can share with you the birth of my locks.

    Namaste

Hi everyone. I'm really quite new here. My name is elizabeth or Luscious, either one. I'm 24. I live in the US, east coast mostly. I used to play around alot with synthetic hair, but finally. i made the switch about two months ago. My very first set of dreads. they are coming along nicely now. i'm pretty excited. here's a few pictures. i took them myself so they aren't the best quality. my hair is rather short. i was slightly hesitant about starting dreads so short, but now i'm glad that i did. this way when they are long, they will have grown very nicely.

I'm thinking about getting dreadlocks, but I'm sure that wouldn't fly with my parents. Yeah. Wouldn't happen, even if I decided I wanted to.

hi everyone, I've haven't been on the forums for a really long time. So I live in the US somewhere in the middle and I'm college student/mom/wife/looking for a post graduate job, which is gonna be really hard with my locks. Their about 6 mo. old this time around and a bit fluffy and wild. I know how a bunch of you here just love the natural locks so it almost shames me to say that I back combed and still palm roll to clean them up(and to keep them smaller) before I go to school or my kids parent teacher conferences and such worldly business. Although, I use no chemicals on my hair or body ever. I'm gonna try to post a pic, but if it doesn't work give me time to figure it out.
