Hey all. I've had my dreads for just over a week now. I don't have a pic of just the dreads so I will post one were you can sorta see em...

i have had my dreads um 10 months but the pic is like 8 or 9 months and ya its from befour i started to care what my dreads looked liek and now they looke verry neat almost like they were waxed but ya never used the stuff they were started in febuary by backcombing and really havet done anything since but i work on them all the time like im typing this with one had and working on them i have no beads or anything in them but i would like to find some.

 

they look cool i dont EVER play with mine and they are almost years old hehe. i fiddle with them absent mindedly bbut never try and make them neat.

before i read what you wrote i thought "wow they look neat"

Wow I saw some of the dreads on this page and they're nice! I just started mine in September and they have been *so* much work for me. The pics are the mess I have had to unfurl..which leads me to me questions:

I think all the twisty-looking mess is caused by sleeping. I can't keep any kind of wrap to stay on, I tried pantyhose and they stay but don't help. It takes *forever* to re-comb,wax,and backcomb all of my dreads. Does anyone else's hair do this (in the pics)?

I am vegan, but can't ind ONE vegan dread wax. So I use beeswax. I don't eat honey and don't rag on anyone who does and is vegan, I would just like to find a really vegan wax...if anyone knows where I can get some, please help.

Did your dreads take a long while to lock up? I know some people don't use wax, but mine get fuzzy and separated if I don't wax it.

How do you keep your roots tight? Your ends? I twist and palm rub but I have to kind of move the knots up to the roots to kep them tight.

yes nice dreads i cant waint for mine to get that phat they will be a year in febuary so i got a long time to go but i love them and wont ever get rid of them

These are not my dreads but they are by far the most amazing dreads I have EVER seen so I had to post them. They are between 6-7 years old. They were posted on a live journal dreadlock community. Beautiful aren't they?

 

Man how would one get dreads that sweet??????????
