Why would we give him two terms. I'm befuddled!

I don't think he should be president, really. It's miserable. He's no Obama...

He's certainly not the first asshole elected president either, and the republican party no longer controls who their members vote for. Its a free-for-all with the lynch mob following any reality TV star who promises to give them what they want, which is completely impossible, because they are demanding a free lunch. They are demanding the right to destroy their own government, without having anything to replace it with except a tin dictator.

And when Obama was in, did you really pay attention to what he was doing?

Besides Obamacare, because that was all over the news, name 3 things Obama did off the top of your head before googling

Bailed out banks and rewarded the heads of those companies.
Did nothing to stop the black communities from burning down cities because they didn't like cops.
Left the economically disadvantaged blacks even further disadvantaged.
    Sold our soul to China.
Let Russia meddle in elections and took no actions.
Endorsed a crook that was his Secretary of State.
Made a crook the Secretary of State.

And Trump reminds me of Obama in a few of these.

The minute Obama gave the bankers a "Get Out of Jail Free" card, it was obvious things could only get worse, however, Donald Duck far exceeded all my expectations for just how fast everything would go downhill. While I don't expect miracles from spoiled rich people, they must be kept on a short leash when it matters. The republican party is only a party in name, and doesn't even have a clear agenda, much less, a mandate from the voters. They are merely the worst Three Stooges slapstick imaginable.

To your first question, I feel like this president needs a babysitter. Obama wasn't on my mind as much. So, I guess I didn't feel like I had to pay attention; which is a luxury apparently...

Besides Obamacare, I remember a distinct message that the war was over. He had brought troops home. Therefore, I can recall one thing besides Obamacare; which still manages to be mentioned in the news (and I wouldn't be surprised if Biden is elected/nominated/whatever if it becomes the "plan" again), one thing which was decreasing our boots-on-the-ground presence in Afghanistan.

But I wasn't active here during Obama's presidency, and I wasn't watching news every morning either. I am both now - watching the news and discussing with relative frequency on Hip.

I'm surprised a little that - if you're honest - you don't recall the Obama presidency as somewhat novel or memorable. I think most people revere him. Maybe, and just maybe, only democrats. But I suspect republicans too recognize him to be one of our greatest leaders; despite your saying he didn't do much. :)

Interestingly enough (and this is without googling) I happen to know because I took a course in Environmental Policy that Obama did a shit ton for the environment! :sunglasses:

Obama was the man, who managed to track down, locate and exterminate Osama Bin Ladin - more than Dubbya managed to do, notwithstanding seven years of trying.

You can add another count. Retaliation against whistleblowers is a violation of the law … in America.

If you think the NSA would let that man get away for any length of time, you are wrong. Thousands of experts tracked down Bin Ladin, very methodically, and even figured out what kind of technology they can use in the future to catch such assholes faster. Bin Ladin might have been able to get away, assuming he had managed to barricaded himself under Cheyenne mountain. The first thing the US did after invading Iraq, was to use a bunker buster bomb on Osama's bomb shelter under his palace, which was good enough to defeat any other weapon. Bin Ladin moved constantly from cave to cave, and now the Pentagon has the ability to launch at least 4,000 drones from a single tractor trailer, and look under every fucking rock. Such drones can recognize who they are looking for even in a crowd, just by the way they walk and, even test their dna to confirm their identity.

In both cases, killing them sent the stock market soaring. Bin Ladin's own strategy, was to invest in his own catastrophes. When you start talking about billions of dollars, any semblance of humanity goes out the fucking window. Roughly a quarter of the world's billionaires are drug cartels, with the percentage shrinking only because the number of billionaires is growing, as all the money continues to float to the top. Sadly, if it were not for the money fighting it out on an unequal playing field, we'd already have had WWIII, and the theory of everything coming soon, may be just the spark to ignite all that. Largely because, it will be at least another half century before anyone has a good grasp on the possibilities for technology.

700% ??? Your numbers are from an alternative universe. Government transport is cheaper. Next time tell them to use the public bus. If the American people give them a hard time, them tell 'em to look in the mirror.

C-150s are the standard government transport for military and others, and they fly constantly, and most might have to wait a day or two to catch one, but high ranking generals and bureaucrats get priority and they will schedule the flights sooner for them. In other words, government transport is flat out free for the most part, because it has to operate constantly anyway.

But we knew that. That's why Trump is President. If the "Prager U." guy asked him the same questions, what interesting answers would we get? Who was Secretary of the Air Force in 1776? When did Canada invade Washington? (BTW. Prager U. isn't a real university. It's a right wing Republican propaganda outlet. Only stupid people like it.)

Do you know what diplomacy is?
Zelensky is in a tight spot, he needs U.S. aid. That aid was given by Congress and then withheld, for no discernible reason by Trump.
Then he has a public meeting with Trump in which he's asked about a phone call that may lead to Trump's impeachment. How's he supposed to answer?
With Trump sitting right there is he going to say, Yeah, Trump used extortion on me and face Trump's wrath? Trump, whose friends with Putin. Putin the man that invaded his country and whom he needs aid from the U.S. to fight off?

If Trump isn't removed from office where would that leave him and his country?
    Get serious.

I have no idea what you're talking about as far as the Ukraine being our whore.
I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to Trump getting elected, that he lied(s) a lot?

Why don't the Democrats call him on his lawlessness? That's pretty obvious. The AG and the Republican party are protecting him. The public, Trump's base to be exact and most Republicans could care less about the law as long as they get what they want...Skippy.

We don't need third party stories this time Skippy.
Stephanopoulos that he would accept damaging information on his political rivals from a foreign government.
Giuliani, Trump's personal lawyer and stooge, admitted asking Ukrainian officials to investigate Biden: “Of course I did.”
Trump waited to see if they would "play ball" with him.
At least a dozen White House personal listened to the call plus a State Department individual named T. Ulrich Brechbuhl.
The official records of the phone call exist (but are hidden away...I wonder why)?

I could go on but why bother?
