I read Moby Dick in high school then again years later when I was older. It was a White Man imagination about a bad assed white whale and the captain who followed it around the world. It was a good story if you like sailing, the old time way. In real life there were many White European sailors, military men, revolutionaries, and others who became Muslim pirates. They changed their religion to join up with the Arab/Muslim governors and got their Flag to sail on the high sea off the Barbary Coast.

Columbus went to Queen Elizabeth, Admiral Bering turned to the Russians for a job, and your average pirate had maybe a five year life expectancy, making loyalty a matter how long you expected to live and how much you were paid.

Kellyanne Conway broke the law. But "so what", says Trump.
Another day, another lawbreaker in Trump's inner circle.
The United States Office of Special Counsel says Kellyanne repeatedly violated the Hatch Act by making in political statements while being an advisor to Trump.
The Office of Special Counsel is headed by a Republican, Trump appointee.
They recommend she be immediately fired.
    Trump is ignoring them.

President Trump’s internal polling data from March showed him far behind Joe Biden in key battleground states

Trump’s early internal polling data showed him behind Biden in key states

    excerpt:

"The polling data, revealed for the first time by ABC News, showed a double-digit lead for Biden in Pennsylvania 55-39 and Wisconsin 51-41 and had Biden leading by seven points in Florida. In Texas, a Republican stronghold, the numbers showed the president only leading by two points."

  12. Half of Moby Dick is just descriptions of whales. I don't know how I made it through the whole thing. By the end I wasn't absorbing information, just reading text without absorbing any of it.

American literature is not famous for its artistic style, and English is better for engineering and business.

I guess Donald Trump doesn't like the idea of Harriet Tubman on the $20 for U.S. currency. He says it's "pure political correctness". Interesting... I like the idea. I think it shows a spirit of anti-racism that this country is in desperate need of.

Trump's order to slash number of science advisory boards blasted by critics as 'nonsensical'
"It's no longer death by a thousand cuts. It's taking a knife to the jugular,” one science advocate said of the order to eliminate a third of the advisory boards.

Trump's order to slash number of science advisory boards blasted by critics as 'nonsensical'

    excerpt:

"The Union of Concerned Scientists found in a study last year that between 2016 and 2017 the number of science advisory committees across all agencies decreased by 20 percent and their membership decreased by 14 percent.

Goldman said that Trump's ordered cut will greatly exacerbate this trend.

“They’re escalating by saying they will get rid of a third of them arbitrarily,” Goldman said over the phone. “This is really nonsensical because there is not any reason to do that. It’s not costing the government much money because they’re not compensating people for their time or expertise, just mostly paying their travel expenses.”"
