ICE to relocate operations after protests in Chicago.

Protests Lead Trump Administration To Evacuate ICE Facility Outside Chicago

    excerpt:

The influx of masked agents roving the streets has frightened immigrant communities in these cities, and led to pushback against the administration’s hardline tactics. Demonstrators have been showing up at the Broadview office outside Chicago for weeks, calling for it to be shut down.

Dozens of protesters arrived at the facility early Friday morning, when they believed detainees were being removed for deportation. Kat Abughazaleh, a journalist who’s declared a run for Congress, said she was thrown to the ground and hit with pepper balls after blocking a van.

“This facility is committing crimes against humanity,” Abughazaleh alleged to HuffPost in an interview Friday. “It is a processing facility, so people are not supposed to be held for more than 12 hours at a time. They are being held for days or even weeks at a time. It’s horrific.”

    excerpt:

"Trump’s hold on power is indeed loosening. His standing with the voting public is quickly deteriorating. Grocery prices jumped in August 2025 at the fastest speed since the peak of the post-pandemic inflation in 2022. Job growth has stalled to practically zero.

Almost two-thirds of Americans disapprove of higher tariffs, Trump’s signature economic move. His administration’s attack on vaccines for young children is even more unpopular. This year has brought the highest number of measles cases since the Clinton administration introduced free universal vaccination for young children in 1993. Parents may be rightly shocked and angry."

    Alien and Sedition Acts.

    The Alien and Sedition Acts

    excerpt:

"Despite Federalist claims of national security, the acts backfired politically. The perception of overreach and repression galvanized Democratic-Republican opposition and contributed to a broader backlash against the Federalists.

The Alien and Sedition Acts were short-lived. The Naturalization Act was repealed in 1802, and the other three acts expired or became obsolete by 1801. The backlash against the acts played a significant role in the Democratic-Republican victory in the election of 1800, often referred to as the "Revolution of 1800," which saw Jefferson ascend to the presidency and the demise of the Federalist Party. John Adams continued to defend the acts, in 1813 in a letter to Jefferson he wrote “We were then at War with France: French Spies then swarmed in our Cities and in the Country. Some of them were, intollerably, turbulent, impudent and Seditious. To check these was the design of this law. Was there ever a Government, which had not Authority to defend itself against Spies in its own Bosom? Spies of an Enemy at War?” Jefferson continued to believe the acts were against the values of the American Revolution."

The Christians who see Trump as their saviour

    excerpt:

“Almost without exception, white Christian groups have tended to vote Republican in presidential contests,” says Dr Jones. “Non-white Christian groups, non-Christian groups and religiously unaffiliated voters have tended to vote Democrat.”

This pattern dates back to the 1960s, he adds, when the Democratic party became associated with the civil rights movement and white Christian groups began migrating to the Republican Party.

For leverage in Trump's trade war, China has been buying soy from Brazil instead of the U.S. and the U.S. farmers are feeling the pain.

It also offsets the damage Trump is trying to inflict on Brazil with his 50% tariffs because he's upset Bolsonaro was prosecuted for launching a military coup against the government of Brazil to try to overthrow the election he lost in 2022.

    Bolsonaro was convicted in 2025.

Trump declares NASA a spy agency.

Trump Executive Order Declares NASA Is Now a Spy Agency

    excerpt:

The Trump administration issued an executive order late last month, quietly declaring that NASA will operate as a national intelligence and security agency going forward.

The order stipulates that the agency will now "have as a primary function intelligence, counterintelligence, investigative, or national security work."

Congress needs take steps like it did in 2022 with other acts when it revised the Electoral Count Act of 1887 that Trump abused to try to overthrow the 2020 election.

Trump has been declaring 'emergencies'. What constitutes an 'emergency' isn't well-defined, nor is the length of time a president has to continue to invoke it.

Revisions are needed to place time limits on emergencies. It should be such that Congress has to step in to extend a president's emergency, as opposed to stepping in to stop it.

Prior to Trump, The Alien Enemies Act had been used only during the War of 1812, WWI, and WWII, all of which were wars declared by Congress. It's another act that needs to be revised or revoked. It stems from a naval conflict the U.S. had with France in the Carribean in the late 1790's. It caused a major Constitutional debate in that era and it is again in the Trump era.

Trump uses funeral to announce what he says is a big breakthrough in autism research.

Trump touts major autism breakthrough at Charlie Kirk memorial

    excerpt:

"Speaking at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, Trump declared "I think we found an answer to autism" during his closing remarks honoring Kirk, who was assassinated September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Trump said that Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz will join him in the Oval Office for the announcement."

How Trump is seizing on Charlie Kirk’s killing for a campaign of vengeance

    excerpt:

However, administration officials have repeatedly made sweeping statements about the need for broader investigations and punishments related to Kirk’s death. Stephen Miller, a top policy adviser, claimed without evidence that there was an “organised campaign that led to this assassination”.

Miller’s comments came during a conversation with JD Vance, who was guest-hosting Kirk’s talkshow from his ceremonial office in the White House on Monday.

Miller said he was feeling “focused, righteous anger,” and “we are going to channel all of the anger” by working to “uproot and dismantle these terrorist networks” by using “every resource we have.”

The vice-president blamed “crazies on the far left” for saying the White House would “go after constitutionally protected speech”. Instead, he said, “We’re going to go after the NGO network that foments, facilitates and engages in violence.”

Ben Carson, transphobic, wrecked havoc at HUD, (along with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law) calling slaves "involuntary immigrants", poverty "a state of mind", and spent $31,000 of HUD money for a set of dishes. He also
He believes the world was created in six days and that the Giza pyramids were built by the biblical Joseph to store grain.

After contracting COVID he treated himself with Mike Lindell's (My Pillow guy), useless oleander.
    Which didn't work.

Donald Trump Claims Charlie Kirk's Last Request Was 'Please, Sir, Save Chicago' During 40-Minute Eulogy

    excerpt:

Later into his speech, Trump said, “I’m so proud of Washington, D.C., and now we’re going into Memphis, and we’ll get that one straightened out fast. And then we’re going into some others, but we’re going to go do Chicago, and we’re going to have Charlie very much in mind when we go into Chicago, and we’ll get that one straight.”
