Calm and understanding are not to be expected from Trump.

    Panic and confusion? Yes.

It's yet another move by Trump that disrupts the labor market and the economy.

Trump (ten steps ahead) retroactively announced that it's not for continuing visas but for new applications.

Trump hounds Bondi to prosecute adversaries in now-deleted social media post: 'They're all guilty as hell'

    excerpt:

President Donald Trump put the heat on Attorney General Pam Bondi Saturday, demanding the prosecution of a list of adversaries in a social media post that he quickly deleted.

In a now-deleted Truth Social post, the president called for charges against former FBI Director James Comey, Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and New York Attorney General Letitia James—slamming Bondi for "all talk, no action."

Trump appoints his attorney to replace the U.S. attorney in Virginia who resigned after Trump said he wanted him out because he wouldn't prosecute Letitia James for alleged mortgage fraud.

Trump picks his former lawyer to be top prosecutor, as he pushes Bondi to investigate foes

    excerpt:

"Donald Trump said he was appointing his former lawyer Lindsey Halligan to be US attorney for the eastern district of Virginia after an extraordinary outburst in which he overtly put pressure on his attorney general to more aggressively pursue senior public officials he regards as his political enemies."

Trump is using the old gun boat diplomacy.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/20/us/politics/trump-venezuela-military-buildup.html

    excerpt:

Several current and former military officials, diplomats and intelligence officers say that while fighting drugs is the pretext for the recent U.S. attacks, the real goal is to drive Mr. Maduro from power, one way or another.

“The massive naval flotilla off the coast of Venezuela and the movement of fifth-generation F-35 fighters to Puerto Rico has little to do with actual drug interdiction — they represent operational overkill,” said Adm. James G. Stavridis, a former head of the Pentagon’s Southern Command.

“Rather, they are a clear signal to Nicolás Maduro that this administration is growing serious about accomplishing either regime or behavioral change from Caracas,” Admiral Stavridis said. “Gunboat diplomacy is back, and it may well work.”

Trump lied about lower prices. You're paying more than 2024 | Opinion

    excerpt:

"Trump spends big on White House gold while ignoring regular Americans

Trump has been busy adding tacky gold fixtures to the White House, tearing up the Rose Garden and turning it into a mini Mar-a-Lago patio, and prepping plans to add a $200 million ballroom onto the White House, one that will presumably display a shocking array of gold."

    Article from April 2016.

Trump overwhelmingly leads rivals in support from less educated Americans

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — It was in Nevada, just about month ago, when Donald Trump proclaimed his affection for the uneducated.

“We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated,” the Republican presidential front-runner boasted after coasting to a decisive victory in the state’s caucuses.

    He should love them.

Trump overwhelmingly leads his rivals for support among the less educated, and draws more modest backing from college graduates and those with postgraduate study, according to exit polls conducted for the Associated Press and television networks by Edison Research."

From Nazi Germany to Trump’s America: why strongmen rely on women at home

    excerpt:

Thinkers including 20th-century German theorist Theodor Adorno and contemporary American political philosopher George Lakoff theorized about the paternalist personality of authoritarians, with Lakoff noting that in modern history, far-right authoritarian regimes institutionalize male authority through a family-like hierarchy: women are subservient to men and both obey the nation’s metaphorical “strict father”. In the home, paternal authority and maternal subservience prime children for a wider social order, teaching them to see women’s submission as stability, and to accept fear and conformity as the price of belonging.

“There’s been a reluctance to name this moment as fascism,” says cultural historian Tiffany Florvil, yet extreme authoritarian dynamics can be clearly seen in the American right today. (Indeed, Trump supporters can’t seem to stop calling him “Daddy”.)

Trump has nominated his personal attorney to be the lead prosecutor in Virginia to prosecute the people he doesn't like. She defended Trump when the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago.

Trump says he is appointing Lindsey Halligan, one of his former attorneys, to lead key prosecutor's office

    excerpt:

"Lindsey is a tough, smart, and loyal attorney, who has worked with me for a long time, including in the winning fight against the Weaponization of our Justice System by Crooked Joe Biden and the Radical Left Democrats, which she witnessed firsthand when she stood up for my rights during the Unconstitutional and UnAmerican raid on my home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida," Trump said in another social media post about her appointment.

All Trump had to do was return the Pentagon's secret documents.

He haggled with the National Archives and the rest of the government for about a year and a half. He made it sound like the government property was his.

He complained that he didn't have time to sort the documents that were embedded in his personal belongs. He stated he didn't want the government officials to see his golf pants.

The final two months of his first term should have been spent on these issues. Instead, he used it to try to overturn the 2020 election, which precipitated more criminal charges against him in addition to the stolen documents charges.

Melania (Mrs. Anti-Bullying) complained in her kiss-and-tell book (released optimally just before the 2024 election) that she was upset the government searched Mar-a-Lago.

She should have blamed her bullying husband.

It's obvious trump is above the law. If democracy survives him and his loving sycophants, there will have to be some MAJOR changes made in our laws and how they are enforced. This country was not ready for this situation---for someone so destructive and driven by such extreme narcissistic behavior.:tonguewink:

Defense Secretary Hegseth requires new 'pledge' for reporters at the Pentagon
So now journalists must take a loyalty pledge to Trump.

    For:
"I swear by God this sacred oath, that I will render unconditional obedience to Adolf Hitler, the Führer of the German Reich and people, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and will be ready as a brave soldier to risk my life at any time for this oath."

    Read:
I swear by God this sacred oath, that I will render unconditional obedience to Donald Trump, the Führer of the United States of America and people, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and will be ready to report only that which pleases Herr Trump at any time as per this oath.
