Another smart-alec remark by the president of El Salvador. Maryland Sen. Van Hollen meets with Abrego Garcia in El Salvador amid court fight over US return
It's already been 24 weeks since Trump won the election. He said he would end the Ukraine war in 24 hours as president-elect after winning the election.
Trump doesn't even understand U.S. national debt. He talks about not paying back national debt like he did to banks that loaned him money that he didn't pay back. During his first term he suggested that the U.S. not pay back some of that debt. That means not giving money back to the people who loaned the government the money. Who would want to loan the U.S. money if the money isn't going to be paid back. Such dumb remarks by Trump further reduce people's confidence in the U.S. along with all of his trade war antics.

Hegseth should return to being a celebrity on Fox and doing MTV Jackass stunts, like the one where he threw an axe, missed the bullseye target completely, and struck and injured a military drummer.

Trump statement about deporting people: “We cannot give everyone a trial, because to do so would take, without exaggeration, 200 years. We would need hundreds of thousands of trials for the hundreds of thousands of Illegals we are sending out of the Country. Such a thing is not possible to do. What a ridiculous situation we are in.”

Alien and Sedition Acts - Wikipedia excerpt: "The surviving Alien Enemies Act has been invoked four times since 1800, the majority being in the course of major declared wars: the War of 1812, World War I and World War II. The law is best known for its partial role during the Second World War in the disproportionate Internment of Japanese Americans. For the final and most recent time, following his second-term inauguration as President in January 2025, Donald Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act to expedite the removal of non-citizens engaged in what he claimed was an organised criminal-gang "invasion" of the United States, deporting illegal migrants to El Salvador around March, 2025. His authorization of the deportation of Venezuelan suspected gang members, under the presumed terms of the Act, is being litigated in the courts. In the first three months of the second Trump Administration, most other deportations from America have been carried out under other legal bases.[3] "
They had a chance to speak out against him during the 2024 campaign and support someone rational. But they didn't. They stayed quiet during the campaign. Major newspapers didn't endorse a president. When Trump won, they flocked to Mar-a-Lago to praise him. Even Musk stayed quiet until the assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024. Then he used it as an excuse to go full tilt for Turmp, even jumping up and down on the stage.
