https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/04/20/jim-diodati-niagra-falls-mayor-canada-00296892 excerpt: “When he came out with The Art of the Deal in the mid ’80s, I bought it and loved it,” Diodati told me as we sat in his city hall office. “I thought, ‘Oh, my God, he’d be an incredible president. We’d finally have a businessman running the country instead of a politician.’” Now he’s had a rapid change of heart. Ever since Trump was elected in November and the new president began barraging his erstwhile allies with belittling comments about Canada being the “51st state” and then levied punishing tariffs on Canadian imports, Diodati has swung hard against the man he once revered.

I was still defending him in the beginning [of his second term],” Diodati said. “It was when he put us in his sights and made us look like the bad guy — more than anything, it was just hurtful … and then the 51st state talk, it went from hurtful to offensive.”
Trump's bro vote slipping. Whole Hog Politics: Bro, what’s going on with Trump and younger male voters? excerpt: "But if we step back and look at men overall, not just younger men, we see there’s more going on here. The latest Quinnipiac University survey shows an 8-point drop among male voters since the start of Trump’s second term, sliding from 57 percent approval and 38 percent disapproval in February to 49 percent approval and 45 percent disapproval this week. He’s still above water with men, but 4 points is a far cry from his opening 19-point advantage. And since the president can’t go much lower with women (33 percent now compared to 34 percent in February), Trump’s overall number is heavily reliant on men."
Out of basic respect for themselves, Trump's male supporters might want to find a real man upon which to ride piggyback instead of macho wannabe Trump who rides piggyback on people like the Village People..

Trump's supporters liked his repeated references to ficitional serial killer Hannibal Lecter, his reading of the snake poem, and his dancing on stage with the Village People.
It remains to be seen how much financial injury by Trump people are willing to incur for their love of him kicking people out of the country.
A farmer in a news article said he has lost half his business but he's still staying withTrump. For someone like Mike Lindell, that tipping point seemingly never arrives. Lindell's injuries have been highly self-inflicted in addition to the effects of Trump's policies and behavior on him, such as retail stores dropping Lindell's merchandise because of not wanting to be associated with Trump and his stolen election narratives and riot at the Capitol. Giuliani is another example.
Handling of the economy was one of Trump's few strong points. His rating for it has taken a nose dive. His supporters thought his second term would bring back the economy of 2017 that Obama left him. Trump's approval rating on the economy drops to lowest of his presidential career, CNBC Survey finds excerpt: "President Donald Trump is registering the worst economic approval numbers of his presidential career amid broad discontent over his handling of tariffs, inflation and government spending, according to the latest CNBC All-America Economic Survey."
Senate Democrats who took heat for government shutdown vote now feel vindicated excerpt: “I concluded, along with others, that a shutdown would actually further empower Trump and Musk to pursue what they’re doing,” King said. “We would have handed him a gift. Anything bad that happened to the economy would have been blamed on us.”
Trump says egg prices are too low. Trump on egg costs: ‘If anything, the prices are getting too low’ excerpt: “You can have all the eggs. You watch, we have too many eggs. In fact, if anything, the prices are getting too low. So I just want to let you know that the prices are down,” the president said Friday after Dr. Mehmet Oz had been sworn in as the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
US intelligence contradicts Trump claims linking gang to Venezuelan government to speed deportations excerpt: "WASHINGTON (AP) — A new U.S. intelligence assessment found no coordination between Tren de Aragua and the Venezuelan government, contradicting statements that Trump administration officials have made to justify their invocation of the Alien Enemies Act and deporting Venezuelan migrants, according to U.S. officials."

More compelling evidence by Trump. ‘He’s got MS-13 tattooed onto his knuckles’: Trump appears to hold up altered image of Abrego Garcia’s hand excerpt: Now, the president has displayed what he claims to be such evidence — a black-and-white close up photograph of a hand that Trump identified as Abrego Garcia’s with tattooed knuckles, including “MS-13” written out above four symbols — that many internet sleuths are already saying was Photoshopped.
