He put his savings into a paper straw business. Now Trump has wrecked it with his anti-paper straw initiative. He bet his life savings on paper straws. Trump may destroy his business. excerpt: But now, two years in, Spinelli says the party is over. President Donald Trump’s executive order last month calling to “end the use of paper straws” dealt a swift, decisive blow to his business, Boss Straw. Orders have stalled, even though the action only stopped purchases of paper straws by the federal government. Instead of selling $800,000 worth of straws this year, Spinelli fears it’ll be one-tenth of that. “Our distributors are saying, ‘Everyone’s going back to plastic now because of the president,’” he said. “The president I voted for, the man who says ‘Let’s make America great again, let’s help small businesses grow,’ that man is going to put me out of business.”

Trump and his associates and fans haven't been denying the fantanyl deaths with truther narratives like they did with the Covid pandemic. Concernng fentanyl deaths, Trump hasn't said 'just be calm and it will go away' or saying that it's just a few deaths and one day it disappear like a miracle. He made many such fantasy remarks during the Covid pandemic. Not to belittle the deaths in the U.S. that are being caused by fentanyl and other drugs. It's a major health problem that needs addressing. But Trump is so vehement and acknowledging about fentanyl deaths but not about deaths from illnesses such as Covid. Trump now has a vaccine skeptic running the entire HHS which will add to the confusion if another Covid-type pandemic occurs, plus confusion about current serious illnesses such as measles where outbreaks are occurring in Texas, particularly among unvaccinated people. RFK Jr. made remarks the past week seemingly belittling the measles outbreaks when he said that they've not unusual and have occurred before. He didn't say fentanyl addiction deaths are not unusual and have happened before. Trump didn't select a drug addiction skeptic to run the HHS.
RFK Jr changes stance on measles outbreak as virus spreads excerpt: "It would be nice to have some confidence coming out of the powers-that-be - at the national level - to show that this is a good vaccine," Ron Cook, a family physician and Lubbock health official leading the response against measles, told the BBC last week, before Kennedy's op-ed. In the past, Kennedy has repeated widely debunked claims about childhood vaccinations, though he changed course this year, saying during his confirmation hearing that he supported immunizations. The US declared measles "eliminated" from the country in 2000, but in recent years, as anti-vaccine sentiments has risen, the country has seen several outbreaks of the virus.
To his gold-framed Georgia mugshot that he has hung at the White House, Trump should add his remark he made to CBS journalist Lesley Stahl after she said that he wasn't known for being the most humble of people: "I think I am, actually humble. I think I'm much more humble than you would understand."

Russian Lawmaker Predicted the Trump-Vance Ambush of Zelensky excerpt: Appearing on Friday’s breaking news broadcast on channel Solovyov Live, political scientist Alexander Voskoboinikov noted that Trump “simply lured [Zelensky] to the White House for this meeting. I can’t explain it any other way. What happened there was a pre-planned operation that was meant to show the whole world that Americans are getting out of this situation. At least, this is what they are demonstrating.”
She voted for him. She fell for Trump's 'free IVF' campaign line while seemingly being oblivious to a long list of his negative attributes that have been well-known throughout the previous nine years leading up to the 2024 election. She's not even sure Trump will give her free money for IVF for children she now can't afford because he fired her from her job. She can try to pay bills now with unemployment, welfare, and Medicaid checks for which Trump and the GOP might require her to work (after he fired her). Perhaps worst of all, she's stuck with Trump for the next four years and possibly Vance and Trump for years after 2029.

Those included 15 percent tariffs on imports of U.S. coal and liquefied natural gas as well as 10 percent tariffs on crude oil, agricultural machinery and certain vehicles. Trump imposed those tariffs using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which grants a president sweeping authority to control economic transactions if they declare an emergency."

According an email sent to the FBI workforce late Friday, and obtained by ABC News, the requested information is to be provided by Tuesday afternoon to the office of the acting Deputy Attorney General, Emil Bove, whose office will then conduct a review to determine if any "personnel actions" are warranted."
FBI Director Kash Patel wants to bring the UFC to the FBI, sources say excerpt: "Newly-installed FBI Director Kash Patel, whose proclaimed plans to overhaul the nation's premier law enforcement agency have rattled many within the bureau, has proposed enhancing the FBI's ranks with help from the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the martial-arts entertainment giant whose wealthy CEO, Dana White, helped boost President Donald Trump's reelection, according to sources who were told of Patel's proposal. On a teleconference Wednesday with the heads of the FBI's 55 field offices, Patel suggested that he wants the FBI to establish a formal relationship with the UFC, which could develop programs for agents to improve their physical fitness, said sources who had been briefed on Wednesday's call."

Rubio and Trump Officials Clash With Elon Musk in an Explosive Meeting excerpt: "Just moments before the blowup with Mr. Rubio, Mr. Musk and the transportation secretary, Sean Duffy, went back and forth about the state of the Federal Aviation Administration’s equipment for tracking airplanes and what kind of fix was needed. Howard Lutnick, the commerce secretary, jumped in to support Mr. Musk. Mr. Duffy said the young staff of Mr. Musk’s team was trying to lay off air traffic controllers. What am I supposed to do? Mr. Duffy said. I have multiple plane crashes to deal with now, and your people want me to fire air traffic controllers?"
