Trump is still in a fantasy world about his riot at the Capitol.

This week Trump claimed he cares more about the police than any other president in history.

Remarks from Trump's debate with Biden in 2024.

FACT FOCUS: Trump's misleading claims about the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump said during his debate with President Joe Biden last week that the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol involved a “relatively small” group of people who were “in many cases ushered in by the police.”

But that’s not what happened. Thousands of his supporters were outside the Capitol that day and hundreds broke in, many of them beating and injuring law enforcement officers in brutal hand-to-hand combat as the officers tried to stop them from storming through windows and doors. There is ample video evidence of the violence, and more than 1,400 people have been charged with federal crimes related to the riot."

The world's political climate is resembling that of 100 years ago. And we all know what it took to stamp out far-right extremist fascism the first time.

It's going to be an interesting next decade and a half.

Trump said in a pre-recorded video that he released a day after the Jan. 6 riot that he ordered National Guard troops as soon as violence broke out at the Capitol.

There aren't any records to support his claim.

Trump did not sign an order to deploy 20,000 troops on Jan. 6

    excerpt:

CLAIM: Former President Donald Trump signed an order to deploy 20,000 National Guard troops before his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, but was stopped by the House sergeant at arms, at the behest of Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. While Trump was involved in discussions in the days prior to Jan. 6 about the National Guard response, he issued no such order before or during the rioting. Speaker Pelosi does not control National Guard troops.

Trump signed an executive order in August 2020 that would effectively banned TikTok.

    https://www.npr.org/2020/08/06/9000...will-effectively-ban-use-of-tiktok-in-the-u-s

    excerpt:

"President Trump on Thursday invoked his emergency economic powers to impose broad sanctions against TikTok, a move that steps up pressure on the Chinese-owned app to sell its U.S. assets to an American company.

In the order, which takes effect in 45 days, any transactions between TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, and U.S. citizens will be outlawed for national security reasons."

Let’s hope so, and that students of all ages will see the hypocrisy for themselves, in real time.

It's all as expected. What's so unexpected is that so many Americans could / can admire a mentally unbalanced, narcissistic criminal enough to actually elect him to be the president of the united states. All these super rich, entertainers and regular citizens believing in what he is doing, will do and what he stands for is disheartening to me. That the republicans will kiss his ass without shame is no surprise. Those of us with the mere powers of observation and a minimal knowledge of history could have seen this coming from far away. IE: from today's news--the episcopal minister that asked trump to have mercy on LBGTQ citizens and immigrants that love this country-----has occasioned a republican legislator to quip "let's add her to the deportation list." Yup. An opinion --out loud--can get you threatened with deportation.

Makes me think of the crowds with their extended arms in praise of --you know who. Millions of citizens who instead of ignoring the insane ravings of mad men--joining the crowds of cultists. The government functionaries in Germany and Italy that lined right up in fear OR agreement with those beasts when they are gaining power. That go along with the horrendous wrongs committed by NARCISSISTIC BULLIES exactly like the one we now have in charge of the Government of The United States Of America. Saddle up people ---THIS IS REAL!!:rage::mad:

Trump would deport or incarcerate someone like Mother Theresa if he perceived she got in his way.

There was a time when people thought Trump was finished and relegated to history books.

    https://www.idahostatesman.com/news/local/crime/article298937855.html

    excerpt:

Despite recently undergoing surgery to remove cancerous breast tissue, she traveled to Washington with her stitches still in place.

“My brother said, ‘You’re gonna go start chemotherapy soon, so why don’t you go? It’ll probably be Trump’s last event,’” Hemphill said. “And I thought, yeah. Because you can’t do nothing once you start chemo.”

J6 Rioter from Idaho, Hemphill, rejects Trump's pardon.

    https://www.idahostatesman.com/news/local/crime/article298937855.html

    excerpt:

Hemphill said it’s the law enforcement officers with the U.S. Capitol Police and Metropolitan Police Department, including the ones who protected her, who are most on her mind this week. Trump rioters injured about 140 of them during the attack, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

“The pardon is a slap in their face,” Hemphill said. “It’s like the country let them down. They were the heroes that day.”

Dimon of JPMorgan changes his mind about Trump tariffs.

Trump Administration Live Updates: Immigration Policies, D.E.I. Office Closure and More

    excerpt:

Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan Chase’s chief executive, repeatedly warned about tariffs during President Trump’s first term. They were a threat to the economy, he said several times in 2018, and “wouldn’t be a positive,” he said in 2019.

Now, two days into Mr. Trump’s second term, Mr. Dimon has called tariffs a valuable “economic weapon.”

Trump rioters Daniel Ball arrested the day after Trump released him.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2025/01/22/trump-jan-6-defendant-gun-charge-005863

    excerpt:

A Jan. 6 defendant whose felony assault charges were dismissed a day earlier was arrested Wednesday on federal gun charges that have been pending for nearly two years in Florida.

Daniel Ball, one of the hundreds charged with violence on Jan. 6, 2021, aimed at police, was among the members of the mob whose charges were dismissed at the behest of President Donald Trump. Trump on Monday pardoned more than 1,000 people who stormed the Capitol that day and ordered the Justice Department to drop hundreds of pending cases.
