In spite of all of the good news, Americans voted Trump back into office because of the perceived threat of Haitians kidnapping and eating people's dogs and cats.

From June 2021 to June 2023, Republicans view of Trump's riot became more apologetic. Republicans who said it was acceptable to call it a riot dropped from 62% to 44%.

Almost a third of Americans still believe the 2020 election result was fraudulent

    excerpt:

Forty-four percent of Republicans say it's appropriate to describe the events that occurred that day as a "riot," down from 62% in June of 2021. And only 15% of Republicans say it's appropriate to describe the events as an "insurrection," down from 33% in June of 2021.

    Article from June 2023.

30% of Americans at that time still thought that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.

Almost a third of Americans still believe the 2020 election result was fraudulent

    excerpt:

"Three-in-10 Americans still believe President Joe Biden won his 2020 election only due to voter fraud, a new poll shows — a durable number that highlights the disconnect on one of the foundational issues facing American democracy.

A new Monmouth poll finds 30% of respondents believe Biden's victory came thanks to voter fraud, while 59% say he won the election "fair and square." That share is virtually unchanged in Monmouth's polling since November of 2020 — the share of Americans who believe it remained between 32% and 29%."

Now that Trump won the 2024 election, all of that conspiracy talk has evaporated.

Eastman is another example of someone who in his late years who selectively no longer appeals to objective facts and reason. He's in the same boat with Giuliani, Mike Lindell, Peter Navarro, Mike Flynn, and Paul Manafort.

It's a phenomenon deserving of research in the field of psychiatry..

It's not necessarily dementia. It's more like selective delusionalism that worsens with age.

Some of the people afflicted with the condition seem to still be rational in other aspects of life, but not when it involves their political or ideological beliefs. Earlier in life they didn't display such a mindset entrenched in irrational thinking and rejection of facts, or at least not to the extent they do in their late years.

Giuliani is an example of it. It's summed up by the cartoon showing the two locusts where one of the locusts says he's been underground for 14 years and asks the other, "What the heck happened to Giuliani?"

Trump, himself delusional in many aspects of life, is one of the most effective people at inducing such a state of mind in other people. He did it to Giuliani, Eastman, and Lindell to the extent that they destroyed their lives for him.

Declare war on stupidity instead of immigrants.

As Trump's election is certified, Americans should declare war on stupidity | Opinion

    excerpt:

"Trump exists in our political sphere because he persuaded people to forget that simple fact. He somehow turned dunderheads like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and, of course, himself – public figures who routinely utter abject nonsense – into people who get taken seriously."

Meloni of Italy visited Trump at Mar-a-Lag the weekend just before the fourth anniversary of Trump's riot at the Capitol and viewed a new propaganda film about Eastman who was a main player in orchestrating the overthrow of the 2020 election.

She's on the same wavelength as Trump.

    Giorgia Meloni - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"In 1992, Meloni joined the Youth Front, the youth wing of the Italian Social Movement (MSI), a neo-fascist political party founded in 1946 by followers of Italian fascism. She later became the national leader of Student Action, the student movement of the National Alliance (AN), a post-fascist party that became the MSI's legal successor in 1995 and moved towards national conservatism. She was a councillor of the province of Rome from 1998 to 2002, after which she became the president of Youth Action, the youth wing of AN. In 2008 she was appointed Italian Minister of Youth in the fourth Berlusconi government, a role which she held until 2011."

The Republican fascists are at it again. Apparently they want to quickly change the law to eliminate paying taxes on tips. What type of totalitarian evil is this?

No tax on tips may lead to a loss of $150 billion to $250 billion in governmental income over the next ten years.

Additionally most service workers who earn tips don't pay federal income tax as they fall below the income level required for taxation and many tips aren't reported anyway. In that case the government doesn't lose the billions of dollars in income and the "no tax on tips" is just an empty gesture.
BTW tips only account for 2.5% of all income so most Americans aren't even affected.

A better solution would be to raise the minimum wage but not taxing tips sounds better to businesses who can claim their workers are getting more money while keeping wages low and thus more profit for them. The effect on workers is minimal.

The visit to Greenland by Don Jr. will be followed by Trump.

Trump is promoting a 'Make Greenland Great Again' campaign that claims the majority of people of Greenland are upset with Denmark and are MGA; therefore, Trump should buy Greenland.

Trump escalates plans to acquire Greenland after resident pleads: 'Denmark's using us'

    excerpt:

In his message, Trump confirmed that he plans to visit Greenland in the near future and that his son, Donald Trump, Jr., will be in the country soon. The president-elect said that he plans to see some of the island's "most magnificent areas and sights."

"Greenland is an incredible place, and the people will benefit tremendously if, and when, it becomes part of our Nation," Trump wrote on Monday. "We will protect it, and cherish it, from a very vicious outside World. MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!"

    Remark by Trump:

"The United States can no longer suffer the massive Trade Deficits and Subsidies that Canada needs to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this, and resigned."

    More propaganda by Trump.

Trump falsely says the U.S. trade deficit is a U.S. subsidy to Canada to keep it afloat.

Canada is producing many goods and services that the U.S. needs that the U.S. is buying from them.

Trump wants to place more import tariffs on Canada and use it as leverage to coerce it to become of 51st state of the U.S.

Trump should be perceiving the U.S. trade deficit with Canada as a shortcoming of the U.S. He should be promoting reduction of tariffs and free-market, efficient production of goods and services that are competitive on the global market that Canada and other countries will buy from it.

That means hard, intelligent, efficient work and education in science, business, and medicine in the U.S. to compete in the world market, as opposed to cheering for import tariffs (and Hannibal Lecter) at rallies with one's face painted orange.

Don. Jr. to visit Greenland as Trump ramps up his quest to acquire it.

Donald Trump Jr. to visit Greenland as president-elect ramps up calls for acquiring the territory

    excerpt:

"I am hearing that the people of Greenland are 'MAGA,'" Trump wrote on his social media platform. "My son, Don Jr, and various representatives, will be traveling there to visit some of the most magnificent areas and sights. Greenland is an incredible place, and the people will benefit tremendously if, and when, it becomes part of our Nation. We will protect it, and cherish it, from a very vicious outside World."

The post appeared alongside a video clip of a person who can be heard saying that if he could tell Trump anything, he would tell him to "Buy Greenland."
