In the wake of Trump's riot four years ago, people thought he would never return to the White.

He's back again and arguably stronger than before.

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/06/politics/donald-trump-election-certification/index.html

    excerpt:

"But by shrugging off his second impeachment over January 6, 2021, reestablishing his dominance over the GOP and winning a subsequent election despite multiple criminal indictments, Trump avoided paying a meaningful political price for his assault on democracy. When he won a nonconsecutive second term, he went from being a political aberration to one of the most significant figures in American history. Along the way, he skillfully portrayed attempts to bring him to justice for his transgressions as persecution, creating a political rallying effect. He’ll return to the White House as an even more powerful leader, thanks to a Supreme Court ruling arising from one of his legal cases that gives the president substantial criminal immunity for official acts committed while in office.

Most profoundly, Trump will send a message down through the ages that a president who refuses to accept the result of a free and fair election and who incites an attack on the Capitol can get away with it — and regain power."

    excerpt:

"Late on a day of chaos and blood on January 6, 2021, it was unimaginable that Donald Trump — who summoned a mob to Washington and told the crowd to “fight like hell” — would get anywhere near the presidency again.

Yet on Monday, exactly four years after his supporters invaded the US Capitol, beat up police officers and interrupted the certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory, Congress will convene to again confirm another election."

Amazon licenses Melania's documentary while Bezos cozies up to Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

Amazon licenses Melania Trump documentary, as Jeff Bezos cozies up to president-elect

    excerpt:

"The Melania Trump movie deal came to light two days after Ann Telnaes, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist at The Washington Post — which is owned by Bezos — said she had resigned from the newspaper because her bosses blocked the publication of a satirical cartoon depicting Bezos and other billionaires kneeling before Trump.

The cartoon features satirical drawings of Bezos, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Meta Platforms

CEO Mark Zuckerberg holding up bags with dollar signs to Trump, who is on a pedestal. Another man seen kneeling before Trump, holding up a lipstick tube, represents Patrick Soon-Shiong, the billionaire publisher and owner of the Los Angeles Times newspaper.

Soon-Shiong in October blocked the LA Times' planned endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election against Trump."

In an MTV Jackass style event, Hegseth on Fox threw threw an axe at a bullseye target on a sidewalk that missed the target completely and struck and injured a military drummer who was drumming during the event for sensational effect.

In the video, it looks like the axe hit both the arm of the drummer and the skin of his drum.

It's like the bullseye was painted on the drum skin.

Leave it to Trump to select someone like that to run the U.S. military.

Hegseth has said he will stop drinking alcohol if he's confirmed to run the U.S. military.

GOP is exploiting car bomb attacks (by U.S. citizens born in the U.S. and serving in the U.S. military) by trying to link them to the U.S.-Mexico border to push for confirmation of all of Trump's nominees.

Republicans try to exploit New Orleans attack to push through Trump agenda

    excerpt:

Lindsey Graham, the Republican senator from South Carolina who is a leading Trump loyalist, said he would vote for all the president-elect’s nominees. “Do them now, do them quick, get them all done,” he told Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures. “We are under attack here – we are at war.”

    Article from January 2021.

Chapman University Law Professor Retires After Bogus Trump Rally Fraud Claim

    excerpt:

"Eastman appeared at the Jan. 6 Trump rally outside the White House alongside Giuliani, who urged “trial by combat” before extremists stormed the Capitol, shocking the world and leading to Trump’s impeachment.

In a White House meeting a day earlier, Eastman joined Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, according to The New York Times, unsuccessfully arguing that the vice president had the power to overturn the election.

Reuters reported Wednesday that Trump was considering Eastman, an ardent supporter, to represent him in his upcoming Senate impeachment trial."

Eastman was once a clerk for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

He was a dean of Chapman University law school and a visiting professor at University of Colorado, Boulder.

Both schools severed their ties with Chapman after his quest to help Trump overturn the 2020 election.

    Eastman retired early from Chapman.

    Article from 2023.

Chapman University Law School Runs From The Ghost of John Eastman

    excerpt:

"Chapman University Law School students just returned back to school with a new dean.

Just as the school’s former dean was being booked at Fulton County jail in Georgia for his connection with the Jan. 6 capital insurrection.

On August 22, John Eastman surrendered on charges related to his involvement in the 2020 election subversion case. He is best known for advocating a legal theory that endeavored to get Former Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 election results in favor of former President Donald Trump.

Two days following Eastman’s surrender, top university and law school officials hosted an opening reception for their new dean, Paul Paton, who was appointed in March 2023."

Donald Trump's tweets predicted bursts of violence during January 6 Capitol riot, study finds

    excerpt:

"One of the study’s most striking findings was the predictive power of Trump’s tweets. The timing, frequency, and emotional tone of his tweets strongly correlated with spikes in violence and weapon use at the Capitol. Tweets carrying negative sentiment were particularly influential, as they preceded increases in both the severity and duration of violent actions by rioters. These tweets also amplified the activity of the #StopTheSteal movement online."
