    excerpt:

"The bullishness spread to some of Trump’s most loyal backers in the Senate. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), who was considered for Defense secretary himself, declared on X: “I expect our Republican Senate is going to confirm all of President Trump’s nominees.

“Of the 72 cabinet secretary nominees since the Clinton transition,” he added, “only 2 nominees have ever received NO votes from the president-elect’s party. No one should be surprised that the Republican Senate will confirm President Trump’s nominees.”"

Trump had the DOJ secretly investigate members of Congress in an effort to try to determine leaks.

Trump's DOJ secretly obtained phone and text message logs of 43 congressional staffers and 2 members of Congress

    excerpt:

"Seeking to investigate leaks of classified information, the Trump Justice Department in 2017 and 2018 secretly obtained phone and text message logs of 43 congressional staffers and two members of Congress in a far broader probe than previously known, according to a new report by the department’s internal watchdog."

Hey, MAGA voters: You've been had. Trump's plans for the economy may ruin you. | Opinion

    excerpt:

"But I’m 100% sure we can trust these billionaires because they’re with Trump, and Trump is clearly anti-elite. As the conservative Heritage Foundation trumpeted after the election: “With Trump’s Win, ‘Ordinary’ Americans Declared Independence from the Elites.”

And Fox Business host Stuart Varney said after Trump won: “The elites have been living in a bubble. Trump just burst it.”

Huzzah! Take that, elites! Now please stand back while regular-guy-billionaire Donald Trump installs a phalanx of other billionaires who will, in a totally non-elite way, lower their own taxes while taking away government services that many forgotten men and women rely on for little things like continuing to live."

Trump hires Jan. 6 rioter for his transition team.

Trump Hires January 6 Rioter for Bonkers Role on Transition Team

    excerpt:

"Last month, the sleuth organization Sedition Hunters spotted Marocco and his wife in footage from inside and outside the U.S. Capitol during the January 6 riot. An anonymous member of the group claimed that they had become aware of Marocco’s participation in early 2023 and had subsequently tipped off the FBI. Marocco has not been charged with a crime."

Marocco skirted the issue of his presence with Trump's mob at the Capitol during the riot.

Trump Hires January 6 Rioter for Bonkers Role on Transition Team

    excerpt:

"In an interview with D magazine, Marocco refused to directly acknowledge the allegations that he was present at the Capitol building during the riot.

“Petty smear tactics and desperate personal attacks by politicians with no solutions have no bearing on the urgency of voting in these charter amendments from 170,000 Dallas citizens for more accountability and public safety,” Marocco told the Dallas-area publication. “Our commitment to strengthening our city through the will of the people is resolute.”

In a statement, Trump transition spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said that Marocco’s “valuable knowledge” on national security matters has been a “tremendous benefit to the Trump-Vance transition effort.”"

Trump was aggravated about leaks that involved him while he showed Pentagon documents to unauthorized people like Kid Rock at the White House (asking Rock what to do about N. Korea) and what sounded like Pentagon battle plans to invade Iran to people in NJ working on the kiss and tell book for Mark Meadows.

    Trump's statement doesn't make sense.

The people who pay Trump's tariffs are Americans who import the goods.

Trump nominates the Screaming Banshee, Guilfoyle, to be ambassador to Greece.

She's known for her screaming speech praising Trump during the 2020 RNC convention. Trump said it was the best speech he ever heard in his life.

Guilfoyle is a former Fox host.

She's the fiancee of Trump's son, Don, who the media says is dumping her for a socialite woman.

Now she'll be screaming at the people of Greece.

Trump to nominate Kimberly Guilfoyle for ambassador to Greece; Tilman Fertitta is likely pick for ambassador to Italy

Some Canadians are musing about President Trump's "suggestion" that Canada become an American State. How to appraise such an idea favorably or unfavorably?

On the one hand, the U.S. is a more free nation and has lower taxes, but on the other Canada is more peaceful and the average Canadian citizen has decent health care as well as cannabis being perfectly legal nationally.

    Hmmm.

Always back to Trump and the gratification of his ego, not the welfare of the country.

    https://www.npr.org/2024/12/11/nx-s...sy-withdrawn-nomination-gaetz-hegseth-gabbard

    excerpt:

"I suspect — and this is just watching — that there is a part of President-elect Trump that doesn't mind this part of the process," he said. "It's almost the kind of chaos and controversy that he tends to thrive with. He dominates the news cycle in a way those other presidents did not."

"So where other presidents tried to quash this, I get the sense he's almost reveling in it, and that's a big difference," Zelizer added.

Trump has ethics panels and the FBI available for vetting his nominations, yet he circumvents them.

During his first term, Trump was asked why he didn't properly vet his choices. Trump replied by saying he just throws names out there and lets them be vetted by the press, the press that he says he doesn't trust to the point of saying he doesn't have any issues with bullets striking reporters between him and an assassin.

Trump didn't want the Secret Service to vet people at his warmup event for his riot at the Capitol. He told the the Secret Service to let the armed rally-goers in because he thought they wouldn't hurt him.

    Another delusional statement by Leavitt.

    https://www.npr.org/2024/12/11/nx-s...sy-withdrawn-nomination-gaetz-hegseth-gabbard

    excerpt:

"President Trump was re-elected by a resounding mandate from the American people to change the status quo in Washington," Leavitt said. "That's why he has chosen brilliant and highly-respected outsiders to serve in his Administration, and he will continue to stand behind them as they fight against all those who seek to derail the MAGA Agenda."
