It raises the question as to how late in the game could Trump, if reelected, dismantle the two DOJ criminal cases against him. Trump could be convicted before he becomes president again (assuming he's reelected) and yet still try to dismantle the cases.

Barr is an example of running interference on a case where Manafort had already been convicted.
