Trump isn't aware that the Presidential Records Act was written in response to Nixon's behavior during and after Watergate when he thought he had the right to not divulge presidential records.

If Trump were to be informed of that fact, he'd probably say that it proves that Nixon was right and they changed the law to take away Nixon's rights.

Trump remarked that the revision of the Electoral Count Act of 1887 proves that he had the right to have Pence single-handedly overturn the 2020 election for him.

In reality, it was revised to stop Trump and others from taking advantage of the vagueness of the original Electoral Count Act of 1887, which politicians over decades had agreed was murky and needed to be revised.

Both parties finally revised the Electoral Count Act of 1887 in December 2022, which shows they acknowledged how important it was to revise it, considering how far apart both parties have been on many other issues.

Trump's use of the Electoral Count Act of 1887 to overturn an election without evidence is one example the approach he uses to skirt the law.

    Others include

Trump deploying states' National Guard, without having to invoke the Insurrection Act, for active duty to fight BLM protester under the guise of a training mission.

Trump declaring a fake national emergency to siphon U.S. taxpayer money from the military to fund his border wall that even Republicans wouldn't finance.

Whatever revisions may be made to such laws that Trump skirts and abuses, Trump will claim that the revisions prove he was correct all along.

Even when an act by Congress has been created specifically with the intent to stop unscrupulous behavior by a president, such as the Presidential Records Act of 1978, Trump will claim that it was written to protect his perceived absolute authority.

During the CNN town hall event, Trump said he would look at the cases to see which rioters he would pardon.

If he really will review all of them, he has over a thousand cases to examine.

A spoof video is needed of the old 70's U.S. Navy TV commercial that shows the young servicemen running off the docked vessel for shore leave.

In Trump's case, they went running to his insurrection at the Capitol.

What a load of crap that was. Yeah, spend six months at a crack crammed into a can on the ocean with a thousand sweaty horny guys run by the most uptight assholes ever. See the world...sure...you'll see a lot of ocean anyway.
