https://thehill.com/news/campaign/3...still-strong-in-key-battleground-states-poll/ excerpt: "The former president had slightly higher favorability in Georgia (86 percent) and North Carolina (87 percent than he did in Ohio (80 percent) and Pennsylvania (77 percent). Each of those states have important Senate races that Trump has waded into or is considering endorsing a GOP candidate. Morning Consult surveyed at least 855 registered Republican voters in each state from March 1-20. The margin of error for each poll is about 3.7 percentage points. The polls suggest that Trump-backed candidates in those states could greatly benefit from the former president’s support, even as some of his recent endorsements have fallen flat. But it remains to be to what extent approval of Trump will transfer to his picks. Trump’s popularity in the four states has remained virtually unchanged since he left office, Morning Consult found."
Trump currently has a RCP favorable rating of about 45% and an unfavorable rating of 51%, a 6% negative margin. Just after his riot at the Capitol, he had a negative margin of about 20%. He seems to do better when out of office, as if people have forgotten his corrupt behaviors.
And again, it's all about who they are asking for his ratings and who is asking......in this zipcode, he'd get a 75% unfavorable rating.....10% favorable, 15% who would ask, huh?
This is why I don’t trust polls. It all depends on who is polled. In 2016, the polls were sure that Hillary would win. I never answer polls. It’s nobody’s business how I vote.
Trump still has some leeway to outdo his latest claim. He could say he's the best person God ever put on the planet, even better than the incarnation. Donald Trump's most ridiculous claim -- maybe ever | CNN Politics
The Trump-endorsed Budd has surged ahead in the GOP primary for a U.S. Senate seat in NC after an infusion of about $10 million, according to a Civitas poll. Budd pulls ahead in new U.S. Senate GOP primary poll - Carolina Journal excerpt: "The poll is a reversal from results in January, when McCrory led Budd with 24% support compared to 19%. “Budd’s nearly 13-point surge since the last time we polled this race, in January, leaps off the topline results. It’s clear that Budd has leaped forward with the $10 million backing of Club for Growth Action in the past few weeks,” said John Locke Foundation President Donald Bryson. Locke oversees the Civitas Poll. “What might be the most remarkable is that we are 40 days out from this election, and nearly 40% of likely primary voters are still undecided.”"
Commentary from 2016 about Pope-Civitas polls. Just how ridiculous is the latest Pope-Civitas poll? | News From The States excerpt: "According to Pope-Civitas, Trump is supported by almost one-third of black voters in North Carolina — 32%. This is a ridiculously outlying number. As Slate.com reported last night, the latest McClatchy/Marist national poll finds that Trump’s support among black voters is 2%. The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds his support at 1%. Heck, even Fox News finds Trump’s national black support at only 4%. In 2004, George W. Bush polled 11% of black voters nationally. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll from early-July found Trump trailing Clinton in North Carolina among black voters by a margin of 82% to 4%. The Pope-Civitas number is, simply put, ridiculous."
GOP Strategist Spots Ominous Warning Sign For Trump That Even He Can See excerpt: "GOP strategist Susan Del Percio said Trump is now falling short by that measure as his rally crowds decrease in size. “That’s what you saw there: a very shrinking base,” she told MSNBC’s Cori Coffin one day after Trump addressed a surprisingly sparse crowd in Selma, North Carolina. Local newspaper The News & Observer reported that Trump spoke to about 1,000 to 2,000 people ― a far cry from the 15,000 who turned out for him at the same venue in 2016. “Those crowds are getting smaller and people aren’t buying into it, mostly because Republicans want to move on. They don’t want to talk about the Big Lie,” Del Percio said in a clip posted by Raw Story, referring to the inaccurate talking point that Democrats stole the 2020 presidential election from Trump. “The people of this country don’t want to hear about it anymore.” The Selma event was the second in recent weeks marked by low turnout. In late March, the former president spoke at a rally in Georgia to a crowd local media called the smallest he has had in the area since the 2016 election."
Jury convicts former Virginia officer on 6 counts in Capitol riot | wusa9.com excerpt: "WASHINGTON — A D.C. jury issued a unanimous verdict of guilty on all counts Monday for a former Virginia police officer charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Thomas Robertson was serving as an officer with the Rocky Mount Police Department on Jan. 6 when he and another officer, Jacob Fracker, traveled to D.C. to protest the certification of electoral college votes. In posts online, Robertson said having an election stolen from him was his "red line" and compared his service in the Middle East — where he was deployed as a soldier and then worked as a Department of Defense contractor — to what he anticipated would happen on Jan. 6. "I’ve spent most of my adult life fighting a counter insurgency," Robertson wrote on Facebook. "I’m about to become part of one, and a very effective one.” Robertson and Fracker were arrested in January 2021. Robertson was indicted on six counts: Obstruction of an official proceeding Civil disorder Entering and remaining in a restricted building with a dangerous weapon Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building Violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building Tampering with a document or proceeding Prosecutors told jurors that Robertson spent the weeks before the riot getting himself pumped up online and talking to other officers, including Fracker, about his belief that the 2020 election had been stolen from former President Donald Trump. And his posts didn't stop after Jan. 6, they said. In one on Facebook, Robertson wrote, “CNN and the Left are just mad because we actually attacked the government who is the problem and not some random small business...The right IN ONE DAY took the f***** U.S. Capitol. Keep poking us.”
Missouri Trio Who Stole Part of Nancy Pelosi's Nameplate Sentenced to Time Behind Bars for Breaching Capitol on Jan. 6 excerpt: "A trio of Missourians who joined the mob of Donald Trump supporters inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 and stole a shard of the nameplate of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have been sentenced to time behind bars. Emily Hernandez, 22, became one of the most well-known faces of the Capitol attack after pictures and videos of her went viral, including one in which she is seen standing just a few feet from Robert Keith Packer—memorably wearing a “Camp Auschwitz” sweatshirt—and grinning widely while appearing to hold the purloined piece of Pelosi’s nameplate. Also pictured with Hernandez are her uncle, William Merry, 63, and his friend Paul Westover, 53. Merry pleaded guilty in January to one count of theft of government property, and Westover had pleaded guilty in November to one count of parading, picketing, or demonstrating in a Capitol building. Hernandez pleaded guilty in January to one count of entering and remaining in a restricted building—all misdemeanors. Westover faced up to six months behind bars, while Merry and Hernandez each faced up to one year in jail. On Monday, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg sentenced all three defendants to jail: Hernandez to 30 days, and Merry and Westover each to 45 days for their role in the mob that overwhelmed police and swarmed the Capitol, temporarily blocking Congress from certifying the result of Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 presidential election."
Missouri Trio Who Stole Part of Nancy Pelosi's Nameplate Sentenced to Time Behind Bars for Breaching Capitol on Jan. 6 excerpt: "That extra time, Peterson said, may give Hernandez a chance to resolve the significantly more serious charges she is facing in connection with a fatal car accident in which she is suspected to have been driving drunk. A Missouri State Highway Patrol summary of the crash said that Hernandez was driving the wrong way on Interstate 44 when she crashed into a car driven by Ryan Wilson, 36. Wilson’s wife, Victoria Wilson, 32, was killed."
MAGA rioter who entered Capitol with his Proud Boys father – and denied it – ends up pleading guilty excerpt: "A Washington man who marched with his father and other Proud Boys and joined him in the U.S. Capitol on January 6 has pleaded guilty in connection with the riot. Jeremy Grace, 37, of Battle Ground, WA, initially denied entering the Capitol in an interview with FBI agents. But video surfaced showing him saying ““Just made it into the Capitol here. Oh yeah, oh yeah.” Grace pleaded guilty to Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds, which carries a maximum sentence of one year in and up to $100,000 in fines. His father, Jeffrey Grace, has pleaded not guilty to charges including illegal entry, disorderly and disruptive conduct and parading in the Capitol Grace appeared in videos along with his father, who admitted to lying to agents regarding his son’s participation in the riot and his own membership in the Proud Boys. The FBI criminal complaint against Jeremy Grace detailed evidence it retrieved from the trash folder of Jeffrey’s Grace’s cellphone. Outside the Capitol, the two are depicted “both repeatedly saying, “our house,” the complaint states. And it provided this description of the pair inside the Capitol:"
Trump is not known for being knowledgeable about geography. At a rally, he said that part of his border wall was being built in Colorado. Trump talked like Puerto Rico was on the other side of the planet as an attempted excuse for his slow aid response after the hurricane. At a rally, Trump said that Puerto Rico better vote for him in 2020, which it couldn't because it is not a U.S. state. Trump gave $13 billion in aid to Puerto Rico in September 2020 before the election to try to buy votes (when it couldn't vote in a presidential election). Central Florida Puerto Ricans decry Trump’s $13 billion for Hurricane Maria recovery as too little, too late
Stung by redistricting rulings, Republicans target state court elections excerpt: "April 11 (Reuters) - Republicans are vowing to spend record amounts in key state supreme court races this fall, seeking to take advantage of a favorable national political environment to elect conservative judges at the state level amid deep political divisions. A string of decisions throwing out Republican-drawn congressional maps in Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania has intensified the party's determination to install justices who could give lawmakers fresh opportunities to muscle through more advantageous maps."
Tina Peters has already been indicted by Mesa County. She's under investigation by state and federal authorities. The GOP is supporting her as a candidate for secretary of state of Colorado. Colorado GOP Faithful Overwhelmingly Support Tina Peters’ Candidacy excerpt: "Tina Peters, the Colorado county clerk now facing federal charges for an alleged conspiracy theory-fueled scheme to breach her county election systems’ security protocols, was the clear favorite of core Republican Party voters who met Saturday to pick their 2022 candidates. Roughly 3,700 delegates attended Saturday’s state Republican Party assembly, and Peters received 61% of the vote for Secretary of State, more than twice what was necessary to appear on the primary ballot, the Associated Press reported. That was the highest percentage of any candidate in any contested race Saturday, Colorado Public Radio noted. Should she win the June primary and November’s general election, Peters would be Colorado’s top elections official."
Wisconsin Republican's deleted emails reveal communications with election deniers and other officials excerpt: "The emails also show a flurry of activity within Vos’ office as he and his staff attempted to figure out how to respond to growing calls for extensive reviews of the 2020 election from the Republican base and the farthest right-wing members of the Assembly GOP caucus. Initially, Vos said he’d hire several former police officers to conduct a review of the election, but eventually decided to hire Gableman and establish a “special counsel” to investigate Republican claims of fraud. Nearly a year later, even the hiring of Gableman hasn’t been enough to quell Republican complaints as Vos faces a primary challenge and some members of the Legislature continue to call for more extreme measures. The batch of emails includes a number of communications from Michael Sandvick, a former Milwaukee police detective whom Vos initially hired to conduct the investigation."
Wisconsin Republican's deleted emails reveal communications with election deniers and other officials excerpt: "In an email to former Vos adviser Joe Handrick, Sandvick asks for former conservative Supreme Court Justice Dan Kelly to forward affidavits about the counting of ballots in Milwaukee. Kelly, who lost his seat to Jill Karofsky in April of 2020, is considering running for the Supreme Court again. Kelly has not been prominently involved in Republican efforts to cast doubt on the 2020 election results, but has written in favor of changes to election law that Republicans have called for. “Joe [I’ve been told] Dan Kelly is in possession of affidavits regarding observations made by observers at the Milwaukee central count. Could you ask him to forward copies [if they] exist,” Sandvick wrote in early June of 2021. That same day, members of Vos’ staff and producers for the right-wing media outlet Newsmax were exchanging several emails about the speaker’s appearance on the channel that morning to talk about Sandvick’s hiring. Last summer, as the investigation evolved from three former cops into the establishment of Gableman’s office of special counsel, Vos and his staff received emails from and communicated with a wide variety of election conspiracists."
