Putin's rally could be mistaken for a Trump MAGA rally. Putin vows Russia will prevail in Ukraine but glitch hinders TV excerpt: "LONDON, March 18 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin justified the invasion of Ukraine before a packed soccer stadium on Friday but coverage of his speech on state television was unexpectedly interrupted by what the Kremlin said was a technical problem with a server. Speaking on a stage at the centre of Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, Putin promised to tens of thousands of people waving Russian flags and chanting "Russia, Russia, Russia" that all of the Kremlin's aims would be achieved. "We know what we need to do, how to do it and at what cost. And we will absolutely accomplish all of our plans," Putin, 69, told the rally from a stage decked out with slogans such as "For a world without Nazism" and "For our president". Many of the Russian slogans used at the rally incorporated the "Z" symbol that Russian forces have used as a motif in Ukraine. One read "Za Putina" - "for Putin". Dressed in a turtleneck and coat, Putin said the soldiers fighting in what Russia calls its "special military operation" in Ukraine had demonstrated the unity of Russia."
Sounds familiar. in the U.S. they also beat police officers with the poles of American flags. Putin needs to update his Trumpian rhetoric.

Trump considers rescinding his endorsement of Mo Brooks in Alabama's competitive Senate primary - CNNPolitics excerpt: "A person close to Trump, who told the Examiner that Brooks has been "disappointing," said the former President felt that Brooks shrugged off his concerns during their most recent conversation and has been taking his endorsement for granted. Brooks is competing against Katie Britt, who served as chief of staff to Shelby and later became president of the Alabama Business Council, and US Army veteran Mike Durant, both of whom have benefited from heavy spending on their behalf from outside groups involved in the race."

While interviewing Kastner and Faulker, Kastner identified Massie as the person in the white cowboy hat, and Faulker said it likely was Massie in the hat, according to court records. During a Dec. 9 interview, Massie admitted to entering the U.S. Capitol, a complaint read. He reportedly gave investigators his cellphone, but said he deleted pictures taken while at the Capitol. Marie Yovanovitch says Trump's Helsinki press conference with Putin was so 'disastrous' that she couldn't finish eating her french fries excerpt: "Yovanovitch was serving as the US's ambassador to Ukraine when Trump and Putin held a bilateral summit in Helsinki in 2018. At the time, she writes in her memoir, "Lessons From the Edge," the US Navy was conducting maritime exercises with Ukraine in a show of solidarity against Russia's aggression. "It was quite a show, and as I watched the display of US sea power and leadership ... I was proud to be an American," the book says. But the same day, Trump held "what turned out to be a disastrous meeting with President Putin in Helsinki," she continues. "The summit wrapped up with a joint press conference between the two leaders, a spectacle that left observers pondering the depths to which Trump had sunk in his pandering to Putin.""
Trump disposed of Yovanovitch when he saw her as an obstacle to coercing the leader of Ukraine to embark on a campaign of smearing Joe Biden for the upcoming 2020 election. Marie Yovanovitch says Trump's Helsinki press conference with Putin was so 'disastrous' that she couldn't finish eating her french fries excerpt: "When asked whether he believed the US intelligence community or Putin, Trump said Putin was "extremely strong and powerful in his denial." Trump also recycled nonsense conspiracy theories about the FBI and the Democratic National Committee, and refused to say he supported the findings of US officials over the Russian leader's claims. And those statements were "what was said publicly," Yovanovitch writes in her memoir. "God only knows what Trump said in the two-hour one-on-one meeting with Putin, a meeting unusual not only for its length but because Trump did not brief US officials on the discussion later. That raised all sorts of questions.""

He also recorded the moments leading up to the breach, as he joined a crowd of Donald Trump supporters outside the doors to the Capitol Rotunda looking to get into the building as Congress attempted to certify Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 presidential election. “Here we go! here we go! Open the doors,” Evans said, according to prosecutors. “The door’s cracked,” he also said, and then: “We’re going in!” The defendant sounded decidedly more somber on Friday when he appeared via video before Senior U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth. Evans pleaded guilty Friday to one count of obstructing, impeding, or interfering with law enforcement engaged in their duties during a civil disorder, a felony with a potential prison sentence of five years and a maximum fine of $250,000."
