U.S. House member Madison Cawthorn is deranged.

GOP’s Promised Jan. 6 Probe Has One Problem: No One Wants It

    excerpt:

"The rhetoric has quickly reached potentially dangerous conclusions. In remarks last week at a local GOP event, Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) lamented “we don’t actually know where all the political prisoners are” and speculated about being “able to go and try and bust them out.”

“Let me tell you, the reason why they’re taking these political prisoners is because they}re trying to make an example, because they don’t want to see the mass protests going on in Washington,” Cawthorn claimed. When someone in the crowd asked “when are you going to call us to Washington again?” the congressman responded, “this is something that we’re working on.”

“There are a lot of Republicans,” he said, “who don’t want to talk about this."

GOP’s Promised Jan. 6 Probe Has One Problem: No One Wants It

    excerpt:

"That juxtaposition exposes a sorry state of affairs for the party, a senior GOP aide lamented.

“That elements of the Republican Party are comfortable defending insurrectionists as political prisoners is a new low in the post-Trump era, and proof that post-Trump isn’t really post-Trump, people are still clearly playing to him,” said the aide, who called any notion of a McCarthy-run investigation “illegitimate” and remained baffled that the GOP leader didn’t just take a bipartisan deal for an independent Jan. 6 commission that was brokered months ago."

While Steve Bannon was cleared of Federal charges due to the last-minute pardon by President Trump, he still faces state charges in New York for his role in the “We Build The Wall” fundraising scheme.

He'll likely end up in prison no matter what happens with this criminal contempt charge.

Our brave congress in action, has now declared a riot and attempts to kill them, "Contempt". Meanwhile, the Supreme Court appears ready to chastise them. Has our government been stolen from our Glorious Leader of the Free World? Stay tuned for, "As The Bullshit Flies".

Personally, I'd sell our government to them, if anyone could figure out who's in charge around here.

He will never, never ever, see the inside of a jail cell. Could you imagine the absolute hell those whack jobs would raise? You know, the ones that think he is still in office, the ones with most of their teeth, anyway.

McCarthy initially held Trump responsible for not responding to the riot he caused.

Later, McCarthy and the GOP blamed Pelosi (who isn't in charge of Capitol police) for not having enough police on hand to stop the riot that Trump caused. He said the GOP would investigate the police issue to find out how to prevent it from ever happening again.

McConnell was still in charge of the Senate when the riot happened, yet McCarthy didn't blame him for lack of police. Trump's rioters overran the Senate chamber before the House.

Trump was commander-in-chief and in control of the DC National Guard which could have been mobilized in a timely manner to stop the riot that most of the police weren't equipped to handle, even if larger numbers had been present.

Before the riot happened, Trump entertained the idea of having the U.S. military protect his protesters at the January 6 activities.

Trump Sounds Pretty Panicked About Congress Finding Out Exactly What He Was Up to on January 6

    excerpt:

"Among the documents Congress has requested are schedules, calendars, and movement logs about virtual or in-person meetings or events Trump attended and who was present; communications between the White House and some Trump allies who pushed to overturn the election, including Rudy Giuliani, Mike Flynn, Roger Stone, and Stephen Bannon; White House communications with Mike Lindell, a.k.a. MyPillow guy, who has spent the last year spreading baseless conspiracy theories about election fraud; and records on militias and extremist groups that were at the Capitol on the day of the attack, including the Proud Boys, QAnon, and the Oath Keepers. As the Times notes, Trump urged his followers to descend on Washington for his “Stop the Steal” rally, and at the gathering near the White House, instructed them to “fight much harder” against “bad people” and “show strength” at the Capitol. And that’s just what he said in public. (In private, he reportedly did everything he could to get Mike Pence to block the certification of Biden’s win, and “engaged in an intensive effort to use the Justice Department to invalidate the election results.”)"

The bipartisan report on Capitol security during Trump's riot was released in June 2021.

McCarthy stated in July that he would start his own investigation into security during the riot.

Senators reveal further Capitol riot security failures in bipartisan report

    excerpt:

"Those posts were spotted and written up by the Capitol Police’s intelligence division. But as revealed in a new bipartisan report cataloging failures ahead of the insurrection, now-acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman told congressional investigators that data on the social media posts was sent only to “command staff” and never reached the department's highest level. Even as the pro-riot chatter continued and tips came into the intelligence division, the full body of knowledge about what would become a deadly threat was not conveyed to the rest of Capitol Police leadership, rank-and-file officers or other law enforcement partners.

The intelligence failures are only one facet of the first official congressional accounting of the Jan. 6 insurrection, a nearly 100-page report released Tuesday morning by a bipartisan duo of Senate committee leaders. The report raps the Capitol Police and federal agencies for security lapses leading up to and during the attack."

Senators reveal further Capitol riot security failures in bipartisan report

    excerpt:

"In a statement, the Capitol Police said they welcomed the assessment by the Senate committees and agreed improvements were needed, but reiterated its position that the information they had available did not indicate an attack on the Capitol.

There was “no specific, credible intelligence about such an attack,” the department said. “The USCP consumes intelligence from every federal agency. At no point prior to the 6th did it receive actionable intelligence about a large-scale attack.”"
