2020 election audit bill fails to pass in Texas state legislature.

'The limitation of Donald Trump': Election audit bill fails to pass in Texas Legislature

    excerpt:

"Despite unusually heavy lobbying from former President Donald Trump, two elections bills that he pushed Gov. Greg Abbott to enact this fall are all but dead.

One would have eased up the process for requesting an election audit, and another would have raised the penalty for the crime of illegal voting, a reversal of a provision that top Republican leaders said was accidentally included in a sweeping elections bill Republicans passed in the summer."

Trump bashes Powell a day after his death and refers to himself.

Powell: Donald Trump disparages the general a day after his death

    excerpt:

"Trump's statement Tuesday echoed his actions after the deaths of other prominent Americans whom the former president considered political foes, including Sen. John McCain, civil rights icon John Lewis and Rep. John Dingell, who was the longest-serving member of Congress.

Trump criticized Powell's record on the Iraq War and derided the news media for treating the former secretary of state "so beautifully" after his death.

"Hope that happens to me someday," Trump said.

"He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!" he said."

That's exactly what Trump was attempting to accomplish. The DOJ should go after him hard.

Last night, the North Dakota Republicans were on a radio show talking about an audit here. Keep in mind that Trump won this state. I wonder what crawled up their Republican ass?

The Republican mindset on voting... If they see "Democrats voting" at all, there must be irregularities. Then they will try their best to make sure that it never happens again. (it = Democrats voting)

Trump claims he ‘would have stopped’ Capitol rioters if Secret Service had let him

    excerpt:

"“I was not surprised when they went down to the Capitol to cheer,” the former president claims in the interview, according to an excerpt published on Tuesday by Business Insider. “But I was surprised that they went [into] the Capitol.”

"I wanted to go down with the crowd. I said I was going to go down with the crowd. But they wouldn't let me go," Mr Trump went on. "I think if I did go down there, I would have stopped the people from doing anything bad."

Several supporters of the former president died during the riot, with one being shot by Capitol Police while attempting to breach the House chamber and others dying of combinations of preexisting medical issues and the stress of the 6 January scene."

Judge halts release of New York man accused of assaulting police | wusa9.com

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — The chief judge of the D.C. District Court stayed a New York judge’s order releasing a Capitol riot defendant Monday following an emergency request by the Justice Department.

Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell issued a one-page order keeping Cody Mattice, of Hilton, in federal custody while she reviews arguments from the DOJ.

Mattice and his friend, James Mault, of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, were arrested earlier this month on felony charges alleging they assaulted police with pepper spray during the January 6 Capitol riot. In charging documents, prosecutors say body camera footage and other publicly available video from the day shows Mattice and Mault tearing down police barricades and then assaulting officers attempting to defend the Capitol tunnel from a mob of supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Mattice and Mault were both identified in part thanks to the hard hats they wore to the riot. Mault’s was covered in union stickers, including stickers for his union, Ironworkers Local 33 of Rochester, New York. In an interview with the FBI in January, Mault said he and Mattice had worn the hard hats because they were worried about “antifa attacking Trump supporters” after events in Washington."

    Another Trump rioter arrested.

Alabama man arrested in Alaska charged in Jan. 6 Capitol riot

    excerpt:

"Federal authorities arrested an Alabama man Friday in Alaska on charges he participated in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

It’s unclear why Christian Matthew Manley, 26, was in Alaska at the time of his arrest. Manley faces federal charges from the District of Columbia for allegedly assaulting officers, causing civil disorder and entering and engaging in violence in a restricted building, among others.

A tipster in July led investigators to Manley, according to an Alabama-based FBI agent’s statement in the charges against him.

The charges say agents showed the unnamed person photos of Manley at the Capitol riot — which the FBI had previously posted in its efforts to find and prosecute such rioters — and the person said Manley had in fact shown the person at least one of the same photos himself."

Trump claims he ‘would have stopped’ Capitol rioters if Secret Service had let him

    excerpt:

"The 6 January attack is viewed by many as one of the darkest moments in the modern history of US politics, as the mob’s intention was to force Congress to halt the certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory and certify a victory for the former president instead.

Many Republicans have sought to downplay the violence, scope, and intentions of the mob in the months following the attack, or have blamed left-wing groups for supposedly infiltrating the crowd and driving it to madness."
