    Trump: 'I've always loved debt'

    excerpt:

"During a rally in Kissimmee, Fla., the Republican candidate was discussing the nation’s mounting debt while holding up a chart that showing its rise over time.

“I’ve always loved debt, I must be honest with you,” Trump said. “I don’t love it for countries but I love it individually. If things work out good that’s great, if they don’t, you go renegotiate.”

“I’ve always loved debt,” he continued. “I understand debt maybe better than anybody. By the way, when you owe $20 trillion, wouldn’t it be really nice if you did have somebody that understood debt?”

Trump was criticized in May when he referred to himself as the "king of debt.""

As a candidate, Trump talked like his personal debt made him an expert on international debt.

After he became president, Trump stated publicly that the U.S. should consider not repaying some of its debt. It sent shock waves through the international business community.

A commonality in Trump's business mentality is to not pay what is owed. He did it to his contractors and his lenders.

How Trump Maneuvered His Way Out of Trouble in Chicago
When his skyscraper proved a disappointment, Donald Trump defaulted on his loans, sued his bank, got much of the debt forgiven — and largely avoided paying taxes on it.

This may be a stupid question, but not a frivolous one: What would happen if enough money to erase our national debt was printed, distributed to debt holders and the debt was reduced to zero?
OR as an alternative: The list of corporations that pay NO taxes , the list of millionaires, billionaires that pay no taxes are made to pay their fair share of taxes and TAX LOOPHOLES, USING HIDDEN OFFSHORE MONEY DESTINATIONS WOULD CAUSE THOSE USING THEM ---------PRISON TIME.

Biden blocks Trump attempt to withhold documents from Jan. 6 probe

    excerpt:

"In a letter Friday to the National Archives obtained by USA TODAY, White House Counsel Dana Remus wrote that "President Biden has determined that any assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interest of the United States, and therefore is not justified as to any of the documents."

"As President Biden has stated," Remus continued, "the insurrection that took place on January 6, and the extraordinary events surrounding it, must be subject to a full accounting to ensure nothing similar ever happens again.""

I still want to know why these right wings pricks can just say--I refuse to comply with a subpoena---and not be arrested? If they continue to get away with this--what does the law mean?

Yep, Scratcho - you & I flip off the U.S. Congress & their subpoenas ...... and see where we land. You have to be part of the "right group" to be able to do that.

Given the Jan. 6th insurrection - and the cream-puff sentences handed down so far - you have to wonder what one has to do against the U.S. Government to warrant STIFF PUNISHMENT.

Justice is being doled out according to the size of one's bank account, what inner connections they have - if any - who they know, and their "position on the societal ladder." The so-called "upper strata" folks seem to be able to get away with damn near anything with a very light sentence (short stay in prison) or probation. Take for example, the CEO of a management company overseeing the construction of a 2-unit nuclear power plant complex in South Carolina. It recently broke in the news that he "agreed to" a mere 2 year sentence for fraudulently bilking investors and taxpayers of South Carolina out of A COUPLE BILLION DOLLARS. It seems he brokered a "deal" with the court there on sentencing. He lied over and over about the success of the ongoing construction schedule to keep the money from investors and taxpayers rolling in. Ultimately - the project was scrapped without producing 1 watt of power. 2 years prison time for that MAGNA-CRIME. And he'll probably get out early for "good behavior" and because he was a regular church attendee. (Why did he bother going to church?? He obviously didn't adhere to God's teaching ........ at all. )

And then ............... Then we have T**** and his band of treasonous, insurrectionist, autocratic-dictatorial fascists and the attempted coup. Damn near half the country STILL thinks T*** won the election - and that he was a good leader!!!!!!!!!!! If this was right after WW II and the Korean war - T**** would likely be HUNG FOR TREASON. But that was back when people of the U.S had studied in school ...... and KNEW right from wrong. Today - - - even an attempted coup against a freely & fairly elected government to overturn a fair election doesn't raise an eyebrow on half the country.

And now the lying REPUBLICAN bastard is marshalling his REPUBLICAN LEMMING DOLTS to donate even MORE MONEY to help him get re-elected. He and his dim-witted, ball-sucking disciples are STILL perpetuating the LIE, MYTH - that there was massive election fraud in the 2020 election !!!!!!!! Despite EVERY court dismissing his claims as ludicrous, and having NO MERIT or BASIS IN FACT ............. about half the country's MORONIC IDIOTIC DOLTS still believe him!!!!!!!!!!!! o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

WHAT THE F---- U ---- C ---- K does it take to garner serious criminal punishment in the U.S. anymore?????????????????

Taking a panoramic view of today's U.S. political landscape ........... and the L-A-C-K of critical thinking / common sense / knowledge of U.S. history & laws .......... just how much longer can the U.S.A. remain a free democracy - and not turn into a fascist, dictatorial autocracy???

I've said it before on here ........... I give the U.S.A .no more than 20 years. BECAUSE OF S-T-U-P-I-T-Y of many citizens.

Article about the Electoral Count Act of 1887 that Trump used to try to overturn a fair election.

The process described in the Electoral Count Act was being used on January 6 to try to overturn the 2020 election. It was interrupted by Trump's insurrection at the Capitol, which, to the detriment of Trump, caused at least one member of Congress, Loeffler, to change her mind and not object to a state's electoral vote.

The Electoral Count Act didn't overturn the election for Trump The votes in Congress were insufficient to overturn enough states to reduce Biden's electoral count below 270 and send the matter to the state legislatures to decide who won the presidency (instead of the popular vote in those states deciding, which Trump was contesting).

The last-ditch effort by Trump was an attempt to coerce Pence into simply not accepting the electoral count to try to buy more time to do more maneuvering to make himself the 'winner' with only two weeks remaining until Biden's inauguration,

Trump Tried To Use This Law To Overturn His Loss, But Now Congress Could Change It
Bills in the House and Senate might clarify the Electoral Count Act of 1887 to prevent a repeat of Jan. 6.

While this is good and all that, the GOP will just find some other way in the future to overthrow an election they don't like.

Arizona Republicans testified before Congress that Biden won 'free, fair, and accurate elections' in Maricopa County

    excerpt:

"Three Republicans appeared before the House Oversight Committee to talk about the results of the Cyber Ninjas audit in Maricopa County: Jack Sellers, chairman of the Maricopa County board of supervisors, Bill Gates, the board's vice-chairman, and Ken Bennett, a former Arizona secretary of state who liaised directly with the Cyber Ninjas.

"The election of Nov. 3rd, 2020, in Maricopa County was free, fair, and accurate," Sellers said to the House on Thursday.

Gates told the House that he thought lawmakers being unwilling to accept the election results was the biggest threat to US democracy that he has seen in his lifetime.

"If elected officials continue to choose party over truth, then these procedures are going to continue on, these privately funded government-backed attacks on legitimate elections," Gates said.

"As a Republican who believes in democracy, I dreamed of one day going to a nation that was trying to build a democracy and help them out. Perhaps a former Soviet republic like Belarus or Tajikistan," Gates added. "I never could have imagined that I would be doing that work here in the United States of America.""

Trump was using tactics outside the scope of the Electoral Count Act. An example was his effective firing of U.S. attorney Pak, whom he had appointed in 2017 (whose jurisdiction covered the Atlanta area), bypassing his deputy, and replacing him with a Trump loyalist.

Trump's goal was to have a loyalist U.S. attorney 'investigate' the election in Fulton County (which contains Atlanta) and declare it 'corrupt'. He tried the same maneuver with U.S. Attorney General Barr. Trump told Barr to declare the election corrupt and let him and the GOP in Congress take care of the rest.

Trump was trying to create a backdrop of (fake) corruption and use it to somehow coerce state officials into throwing out the popular vote election results and have state legislators assign their own slate of electors that would make Trump the winner. If he could somehow accomplish that in a sufficient number of states, such as PA, GA, and AZ, he would have had enough electoral votes to be the 'winner'.

Similar to the tactic he used at the Fulton County level, Trump used the same tactic at the national level by trying to fire acting U.S. Attorney General Rosen (who assumed the position after Barr resigned in frustration), bypass his deputy, Donoghue, and install a Trump loyalist truther, Clark, to declare the election corrupt.

Which Iowa Republicans are speaking at Saturday's Trump rally? - Iowa Capital Dispatch

    excerpt:

"Saturday’s event will be Trump’s first trip back to Iowa since before the 2020 election. Last October, Reynolds joined Trump at a rally in Des Moines, where she gave a brief speech and tossing “Make America Great Again” ballcaps into the crowd.

Trump has not announced if he intends to run for president again in 2024, but his approval rating remains high in the first-in-the-nation caucus state. A September Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll found that 53% of Iowans have a favorable view of Trump, a higher percentage than at any point during his presidency.

Iowa Democrats, however, have not grown more fond of Trump since he left office. In the same poll, 99% of Democrats viewed Trump unfavorably. Democratic leadership in the state on Thursday criticized Republicans for rallying alongside the former president."
