Pence is still on Fox and other outlets saying that it was just one little ole event that the Democrats are using against him.

    Trump's rambling sentence in 2015.

He sounded more coherent in 2015 than today.

Leader of N.Y.P.D. Sergeants Union Quits After F.B.I. Raids

    excerpt:

"In a city where Democrats significantly outnumber Republicans, Mr. Mullins has drawn scrutiny for his outspoken right-wing politics. Both the sergeants’ union and its larger sister union, the Police Benevolent Association, have been run mostly by conservatives whose views are not widely shared by many in the metropolis they police.

Mr. Mullins has praised former President Donald J. Trump, a Republican who was deeply unpopular among city residents. In February 2020, he visited the White House for what he said was a conversation about the “plight of police officers in N.Y.C.” Mr. Trump, he said on Twitter, “has our backs!”

Mr. Mullins has made regular appearances on conservative news shows, where he has attacked Mr. de Blasio and Andrew M. Cuomo, the former governor of New York, saying they turned their backs on police officers.

He also came under fire after giving an interview to Fox News with a mug bearing a symbol linked to QAnon, a conspiracy theory popular among Trump supporters, displayed in the background."

The 'Hang Mike Pence' chants occurred later in the day after national guard troops pushed Trump's rioters out of the Capitol building. Videos show that they were still trying to fight the lines of guard even when they were outnumbered and out-powered.

The 'Hang Mike Pence' chants were the last-gasp effort by Trump's rioters who were completely frustrated that Biden's legitimate win would be certified.

The DNC-connected lawyer charged in the Durham probe says the indictment doesn't even explain what he's accused of lying to the FBI about

The DNC-connected lawyer charged in the Durham probe says the indictment doesn't even explain what he's accused of lying to the FBI about - NewsBreak

    excerpt:

"The attorney charged in special counsel John Durham's investigation into the origins of the FBI's Russia probe said in a filing this week that the indictment against him is too vague to allow him to begin building a criminal defense.

Durham last month charged the Democratic-linked lawyer, Michael Sussman, with one count of lying to the FBI. He's accused of having "lied about the capacity in which he was providing" allegations to the FBI about what he claimed was a "secret communications channel" between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, a Russian bank.

The indictment said Sussman's alleged falsehoods impeded an FBI investigation.

On Wednesday night, Sussman argued in legal filings that the indictment "fails to allege the precise false statement that Mr. Sussmann purportedly made," and doesn't adequately explain how the FBI was impeded from doing its job.

"While the Indictment in this matter is 27 pages long, the majority of the allegations are not relevant to the crime the Special Counsel has chosen to charge," Sussman's lawyers wrote. "And on that charge, a single alleged false statement, the Indictment plainly fails to provide Mr. Sussmann with the detail and clarity that the law requires and that is essential in enabling Mr. Sussmann to prepare his defense.""

umm, the White House doesn’t swear in a successor to a invalid, or deceased president. Only the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court can do that.

Report Cites New Details of Trump Pressure on Justice Dept. Over Election

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — Even by the standards of President Donald Trump, it was an extraordinary Oval Office showdown. On the agenda was Trump’s desire to install a loyalist as acting attorney general to carry out his demands for more aggressive investigations into his unfounded claims of election fraud.

On the other side during that meeting on the evening of Jan. 3 were the top leaders of the Justice Department, who warned Trump that they and other senior officials would resign en masse if he followed through. They received immediate support from another key participant: Pat A. Cipollone, the White House counsel. According to others at the meeting, Cipollone indicated that he and his top deputy, Patrick F. Philbin, would also step down if Trump acted on his plan.

Trump’s proposed plan, Cipollone argued, would be a “murder-suicide pact,” one participant recalled. Only near the end of the nearly three-hour meeting did Trump relent and agree to drop his threat."

Report Cites New Details of Trump Pressure on Justice Dept. Over Election

    excerpt:

"The interim report, expected to be released publicly this week, describes how Justice Department officials scrambled to stave off a series of events during a period when Trump was getting advice about blocking certification of the election from a lawyer he had first seen on television and the president’s actions were so unsettling that his top general and the House speaker discussed the nuclear chain of command.

“This report shows the American people just how close we came to a constitutional crisis,” Sen. Richard J. Durbin, D-Ill., and chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said in a statement. “Thanks to a number of upstanding Americans in the Department of Justice, Donald Trump was unable to bend the department to his will. But it was not due to a lack of effort.”

Durbin said that he believes the former president, who remains a front-runner for the Republican nomination in 2024, would have “shredded the Constitution to stay in power.”"

More actions by Trump to try to overturn the election.

Pak in Atlanta resigned because Trump was planning to fire him in frustration for not being able to 'find' votes for him to 'win' the election in GA.

Report Cites New Details of Trump Pressure on Justice Dept. Over Election

    excerpt:

"— The report confirmed that Trump was the reason that Pak hastily left his role as U.S. attorney in Atlanta, an area that Trump wrongly told people he had won. Trump told top Justice Department officials that Pak was a never-Trumper, and he blamed Pak for the FBI’s failure to find evidence of mass election fraud there. During the Jan. 3 fight in the Oval Office, Donoghue and others tried to convince Trump not to fire Pak, as he planned to resign in just a few days. But Trump made it clear to the officials that Pak was to leave the following day, leading Donoghue to phone him that evening and tell him he should preemptively resign. Trump also went outside the normal line of succession to push for a perceived loyalist, Bobby L. Christine, to run the Atlanta office. Christine had been the U.S. attorney in Savannah, and had donated to Trump’s campaign."

Not only did Trump dispose of U.S. attorney Pak in Atlanta, he bypassed his deputy and installed Bobby Christine, a Trump loyalist.

Trump tried to do a similar maneuver when he tried to fire DOJ acting Attorney General Rosen (who assumed Barr's role after Barr resigned in December), bypass acting Deputy AG Donoghue, and replace Rosen will a little known person named Clark who believed Trump's truther narratives about the election. Trump lost that bid due to officials in the DOJ who wouldn't go along with the scheme.

Jan. 6 committee subpoenas 'Stop the Steal' rally organizer

    excerpt:

"The Jan. 6 select committee on Thursday subpoenaed Ali Alexander, a key figure behind the “Stop the Steal” movement that aided former President Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election.

The subpoena, one of three issued Thursday by the House panel investigating the Capitol attack, targets a divisive hard-line conservative who had regular communication with Trump allies, including some congressional Republicans, in the crucial weeks after President Joe Biden's win.

“The rally on the Capitol grounds on January 6th, like the rally near the White House that day, immediately preceded the violent attack on the seat of our democracy,” Chair Bennie Thompson said in a statement on the committee's third round of subpoenas, referring to the "Stop the Steal"-sponsored event that metastasized into a riot.

“Over the course of that day, demonstrations escalated to violence and protestors became rioters. The Select Committee needs to understand all the details about the events that came before the attack, including who was involved in planning and funding them. We expect these witnesses to cooperate fully with our probe.”"

    Two Trump rioters arrested Monday.

A woman charged in the Capitol riot claimed she stole Pelosi’s beer. The feds say there’s no evidence.

Jan. 6 committee subpoenas 'Stop the Steal' rally organizer

    excerpt:

"Federal investigators have cast doubt on that last part. Surveillance footage from the Capitol reviewed by agents does not show Hentschel or Pryer entering the speaker’s office, although they were seen wandering the building and restricted grounds.

Both Hentschel and Pryer were arrested on Monday. The women face multiple charges over their alleged role in the deadly riot, according to criminal complaints filed in the U.S. District Court in Washington. The charges include knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, disorderly conduct and willfully uttering loud, threatening, or abusive language on Capitol grounds.

Hentschel did not respond to a message from The Washington Post early Thursday. Pryer could not immediately be reached. It is unclear whether the pair have retained attorneys."

Trump nominated Pak in July 2017. He was confirmed by the Senate.

Trump turned on his own selection and forced Pak to resign in January 2021 when he wouldn't cooperate with trying to 'find' enough votes for Trump to 'win' Georgia.

    B. J. Pak - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"In July 2017, Pak was nominated by President Donald Trump to become United States Attorney for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.[7] He was confirmed for the position by the United States Senate on September 28, 2017.[8]

On January 3, 2021, Trump called top Georgia state election officials, a call which was recorded and later released, and pressured them to help him "find" more votes in order to overturn the election of president-elect Biden. During the call Trump referenced Atlanta and Fulton counties of Georgia and referred to the "never-Trumper U.S. attorney there." Pak's district included those counties. Pak resigned the next day, citing "unforeseen circumstances." (2021)[9][10][11]"

Donald Trump earns his highest favorability marks in any Iowa Poll

    excerpt:

"Out of the daily spotlight and openly flirting with another White House bid, former President Donald Trump will return to Iowa Saturday with better favorability ratings than he ever saw while president.

The latest Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll shows 53% of Iowans now have a favorable view of the former Republican president and 45% have an unfavorable view — his best showing ever on either metric in the Iowa Poll. Another 2% are not sure how they feel about Trump.

The numbers come as Trump begins to reengage with the state that is expected to kick off the 2024 presidential nominating process for Republicans. And they show favorable feelings for him have not waned in his absence."

    Trump won Iowa 53% to Biden's 45%.

Those are the same Iowa figures for Trump as the recent favorability poll by the Des Moines Register (53% favorable, 45% unfavorable).

In the context of those metrics, little appears to have changed in Iowa, even after Trump's insurrection.
