"Andrew Hatley, one of 10 South Carolinians so far charged in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riots, pleaded guilty Tuesday to riot-related charges and admitted he deliberately tried to disrupt Congress during the electoral certification vote of now President Joe Biden.

The guilty plea was the result of a plea deal between Hatley and federal prosecutors.

Specifically, Hatley pleaded guilty to “parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.” The offense carries a maximum sentence of six months in federal prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Hatley will be sentenced Dec. 16 by U.S. Judge Thomas Hogan."

On a frigid afternoon in Philadelphia, President Donald Trump stood with his next top military advisor prior to the annual Army-Navy football game.

Trump selected Gen. Mark A. Milley, chief of Staff of the Army, as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In a morning tweet preceding the annual Army-Navy game, Trump tweeted his nomination of Milley.

"I am pleased to announce my nomination of four-star Gen. Mark Milley, chief of Staff of the United States Army -- as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, replacing Gen. Joe Dunford, who will be retiring," the president tweeted. "I am thankful to both of these incredible men for their service to our Country!"

If confirmed by the Senate, Milley would succeed Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford, who has served in the position since September 2015. Dunford will step down in September 2019. Trump said the date of transition is "to be determined." Milley would be the 20th man to hold the position since General of the Army Omar N. Bradley in 1949."

Milley is a good man, something the republican party is having difficulty attracting these days, and to deny him now would be to put the nails in their own coffin. Our government is FUCKED, and needs a complete remake, from the ground up. Until this is over, we need team players in key positions.

 

I figure her hospital stay cost us about $500k. We could have insured a lot of sick poor kids for that, dumb ass. But I guess it was her right, right?

Right now conservative judges across the country are slowly beginning to become aware that they are the idiots who supported these idiots. We could call half the damned country traitors, just for electing Donald Duck, but its not helpful, so they're attempting to make it sound like some sort of sad conspiracy by fringe groups. No sense discussing the reality, at least, not until the judges have a chance to face their own demons. Lawyers are weird, but this is one of their traditions, to throw each other's crap in their faces when necessary.

A key witness in the first impeachment of then-President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “must resign” if he is confirmed to have made secret calls to his Chinese counterpart in order to reassure Beijing that Trump would not order military action against the Communist superpower.

 

I agree that Milley usurped his authority, but if he prevented a nuclear war I applaud him.

 

So General Milley, trying to deal with a chaotic situation, took steps to ensure that Trump couldn't go nuclear and assured the Chinese that there was nothing to worry about. He felt Trump had become unstable after losing the election and that these steps were necessary. Hey, Trump was already a loose cannon, and when he lost he couldn't accept it. He was and is unstable. I applaud Milley for doing what he did.

 

Another slap on the wrist. Nothing to ever prevent this happening again. By the time all these doofs get sentenced to their 250 hours of community service everything would be forgotten.

 

Half the country has the same idea about Biden

 

I believe Biden shouldn't run for re-election in 2024, he's too old and it's starting to show. But it makes a lot more sense than Trump running for re-election. Or for that matter Trump running for President in the first place. Please retire Donald! I'm eight years younger than you, I'm retired and it's great! And I don't have all your money and property to retire with! It's time to hang it up!
