With 42 arrests, Pennsylvania ranks 3rd in people charged in Capitol riots

    excerpt:

"With 42 of its residents now charged, Pennsylvania ranks third among the 50 states in terms of the number of people accused of participating in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Only Florida, with 53 residents charged, and Texas, with 45, top the Keystone State on that dubious roster.

New York is in fourth place with 39 residents facing federal charges connected to the riot that forced Congress to evacuate. That’s followed by Virginia, with 25, Ohio (23) and California (22)."

Another Trump rioter from Florida arrested.

Punta Gorda man accused of involvement in Capitol riot, Oath Keepers affiliation

    excerpt:

"Punta Gorda man accused of involvement in Capitol riot, Oath Keepers affiliation

Another man in Southwest Florida has been arrested in connection with the Jan 6. U.S. Capitol riot.

According to a criminal complaint made by an FBI task force member on July 2, David Moerschel, 43, of Punta Gorda, was arrested for activity he’s accused of with the Oath Keepers group during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

“As described more fully herein, Moerschel conspired with others known and unknown to forcibly enter the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and to obstruct the Congressional proceeding occurring that day,” the complaint states."

These books are truly a window into the mind of a very sick and demented individual

Trump raged that whoever leaked that he'd hidden in the White House bunker during anti-racism protests should be 'charged with treason' and 'executed,' book says

Bender wrote that Trump seethed about the bunker story during a meeting with military and law-enforcement officials and West Wing advisors.

According to CNN, Bender wrote that the president "boiled over about the bunker story as soon as they arrived and shouted at them to smoke out whoever had leaked it."

"It was the most upset some aides had ever seen the president,"

"... why this is going to be hard to prosecute is that it's just the rantings of a crazyman."

That assessment is supported by remarks made by Trump during his recent speech at the CPAC convention in Texas (the Capitol insurrection was a love-fest for the police, one million people attended his riot, Babbitt is a hero, the Capitol doors were open to the public to come in legally, etc.)

Jenna Ellis resigns from the GOP.

Former Trump campaign adviser leaving GOP in protest

    excerpt:

"Former Trump campaign legal adviser Jenna Ellis is leaving the Republican Party in protest amid reports that the party’s chief attorney bashed the Trump campaign’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

During Monday’s episode of “Just the Truth," her show on Real America’s Voice, Ellis said she was leaving the party until its top officials resign, including RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

“All of them, including Ronna McDaniel, should resign now. Until they do, as of today, I am resining from the party,” Ellis said.

“I am changing my voter registration and I am no longer a Republican until the party decides that it wants to be conservative again. Even if I stand alone for the truth, I will stand for the truth,” she continued."

Legal threats to Donald Trump ‘more serious than ever before’, experts say

    excerpt:

"For example, a Georgia district attorney is leading a wide ranging criminal probe into Trump’s infamous call on 2 January to Georgia’s secretary of state beseeching him to “find 11,780 votes” to block Joe Biden’s presidential election win there.

Meanwhile, separate prosecutors in New York and Washington DC are scrutinizing whether Trump’s businesses benefited illegally during his 2017 inauguration. The Washington attorney general has sued the inaugural committee, the Trump International Hotel in DC and the Trump Organization alleging they schemed to make “exorbitant and unlawful” payments of over $1 million to Trump’s DC hotel which hosted some inaugural events.

Further, Trump could be ensnared in a federal criminal investigation of his former personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, who Trump tapped to dig up dirt on Biden in Ukraine during the campaign. Giuliani is being investigated reportedly for possible violations of foreign lobbying laws that require registration, and for his role in Trump’s firing of the US ambassador there in 2019.

On yet another legal front, Trump is facing several civil lawsuits, including one from writer E Jean Carroll, whose 2019 memoir alleged Trump once raped her. After Trump accused her of lying to sell books, Carroll filed a defamation lawsuit."

Drunken Giuliani urged Trump to ‘just say we won’ on election night, book says

    excerpt:

"“Just say we won,” Giuliani said.

“Giuliani’s grand plan,” the authors report, “was to just say Trump won, state after state, based on nothing. Stepien, Miller and Meadows thought his argument was both incoherent and irresponsible.”

Meadows reportedly responded, angrily: “We can’t do that. We can’t.”

    But Trump did.

Leonnig and Rucker, co-authors of another Trump bestseller, A Very Stable Genius, report that Giuliani refused to accept the early call of Arizona, another key state, by Fox News.

“Just go declare victory right now,” Giuliani reportedly told a furious Trump. “You’ve got to go declare victory now.”

At 2am, Trump walked into the East Room.

“This is a fraud on the American public,” he said. “This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election. We did win this election.”"

Yes, Donald Trump's final days in office were even worse than we thought - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

    "And that reality is this:

*Faced with a once-in-a-century public health crisis, Donald Trump not only drastically mishandled some of the basics (rapid testing for Covid-19, mask-wearing) but also actively worked to undermine public confidence in the very doctors, epidemiologists and public health experts who were working to keep Americans safe.

*Unable to accept that he had lost the election, Trump sought to use the official powers of the government – including the Justice Department – to try to find non-existent evidence of fraud. He created an environment in which a large chunk of Americans believed this Big Lie about the election and then not only incited the January 6 crowd but also stood by for hours as they ransacked the Capitol.

*Trump, who repeatedly told crowds during the campaign that he had done more for Black people than any president since Abraham Lincoln, failed to grasp either the gravity or the goals of the Black Lives Matter protests. He saw the racial justice protests as nothing more than an uprising against HIM – and tried to force the military to deploy to states where the marches were most prevalent."

This past weekend trump said Hillary Clinton is the angriest person in the United States.

i.e. trump is once again projecting his own emotions onto someone else because he can't face the truth.

I'll even go a step further and say trump is the angriest person on the entire planet ...lol...

I WILL say that a person like trump becoming so prominent has brought to the fore in our country, that which we sorely lack. That being, reasonably priced ( if not free) educational opportunities for all, with the emphasis on critical thinking skills, much, MUCH more available mental health screening and treatment available ----maybe even mandatory treatment for those that need it, ( yeah--I know--who decides?) , and the addressing of the urgent and continuing societal problems of capital ( money) inequity that is exacerbated with conservative control of institutions national and local. Hey--the super rich have enough god damned money!! Let's see that more of the available capital goes to the people that actually DO the work in this country.
