Former Arizona lawmaker Anthony Kern removed from Maricopa County audit recount

"A former state lawmaker who was at the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 insurrection is no longer being allowed to count and inspect ballots at the Arizona election audit.

Anthony Kern spent a few days working for auditors conducting a recount of 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County before contractors removed him because of "optics."

"He was here for two or three days," Ken Bennett, the Arizona Senate's audit liaison, said Thursday. "Once it was identified that that wasn't the best optics, I think the contractor removed him from the counting tables."

Kern's name also appeared on the 2020 ballots he was counting.

His ouster came after an Arizona Republic reporter was escorted from the audit site for photographing Kern at the ballot counting tables and posting the image on Twitter.

Reporter Ryan Randazzo was observing the audit along with two other Arizona journalists on April 30 when he was told his press privileges were being revoked."

It occurs to me, if Trump tries to hold new rallies and they don't draw big crowds, that could convince the GOP that he doesn't have such a strong base anymore and it might embolden them to turn against him! Of course if they do draw big crowds then we're fucked and will have to wait for the mid-terms for a chance to take him down. That is unless he's convicted of a felony. So many variables!

As for counter protests, they could get ugly. We would need to ensure that no one at or near the rally is armed. This would require a large police/national guard presence, which Trump would be required to pay for up front.

Republican Arizona election official says Trump "unhinged"

Space Force commander fired after comments made on conservative podcast

A Space force lieutenant colonel has been removed from his command after appearing on a conservative podcast criticizing the United States military.

Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier joined The Steve Gruber show to discuss his new book, "Irresistible Revolution: Marxism's Goal of Conquest & the Unmaking of the American Military," which alleges that Marxist ideologies are becoming widespread within the armed forces. He expounded on those concerns in the podcast.

"Since taking command as a commander about 10 months ago, I saw what I consider fundamentally incompatible and competing narratives of what America was, is and should be," Lohmeier said. "That wasn't just prolific in social media, or throughout the country during this past year, but it was spreading throughout the United States military. And I had recognized those narratives as being Marxist in nature."
