    This means he expects loyalty...

He just used the word "unity" because Biden did.

Omg....the closing song to CPAC was “YMCA” from The Village People....
He didn’t officially say he was running for 2024, he hinted around it, though. Left it open.

CPAC had always been held in greater DC. The coronavirus shut down the Gaylord Center where CPAC had been held for eight years.

Florida has lax coronavirus precautions and Orlando is in Trump's backyard, making it a desirable location for the in-person CPAC 2021.

Orlando has been one of Trump's favorite locations for his events.

‘The right state’: CPAC moves to Florida for first time in 2021

    excerpt:

"CPAC 2021 is scheduled for Feb. 25-28 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando after being held since its launch in 1974 in the greater Washington, D.C., area, including for the last eight years at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

The Gaylord has been closed since March for the novel coronavirus pandemic, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has refused to shut down his state.

The conference will be held in-person and mostly indoors. Orange County has a mask mandate, but Mr. DeSantis in September lifted enforcement of local facial-covering requirements."

CPAC should have had four golden Trump statues dressed up like The Village People.

Rick Scott: GOP is ‘voters' party,’ not Trump's

    excerpt:

"Sen. Rick Scott on Sunday declined to call the GOP the party of former President Donald Trump and acknowledged President Joe Biden was “absolutely” the legitimate winner of the 2020 White House race.

In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Scott (R-Fla.) — the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee — reiterated his message that “the Republican civil war is canceled.”

But Scott’s remarks to host Chris Wallace also underscored the tense intraparty disputes he is navigating as he leads the GOP effort to retake the Senate in the 2022 midterm elections.

Asked by Wallace whether the Republican Party is “still Donald Trump’s party,” Scott replied that the GOP is “the voters’ party” and “always has been.”"

The lynch mob can call themselves whatever they damned well please on any given occasion. You are mistaking a lynch mob for a political party. Forty percent of the population approves of what Donald Duck has done, and they are willing to destroy the republican party, right along with the democrats.

Former CPAC Chair Minces No Words Slamming What The Event, GOP Have Now Become
This year’s Conservative Political Action Conference attendees “are living in an alternate reality in which facts don’t matter,” said former GOP Rep. Mickey Edwards
    By Lee Moran
    February 26, 2021

Former CPAC Chair Minces No Words Slamming What The Event, GOP Have Now Become | HuffPost

    excerpt:

"A former chair of the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday slammed what the event has now become, suggesting former President Ronald Reagan would not get elected by those in attendance at this year’s gathering.

Mickey Edwards — who led the American Conservative Union, which organizes the event, for five years until 1983 — ripped Republicans attending this year’s CPAC in Orlando for their devotion to former President Donald Trump.

In an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Edwards likened the GOP to a cult whose members are living in an alternate reality.

Edwards served as a GOP representative for Oklahoma for 16 years until 1993 but quit the GOP in January following the deadly U.S. Capitol riot. The violence was perpetrated by a violent mob of Trump supporters who’d been whipped up by the then-president’s lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

“The Republican party really no longer stands for any kind of principles, conservative or otherwise,” Edwards told Burnett on Friday.

“The party seems now to be completely following the lead of one man wherever he goes, which is the definition of a cult,” he continued. “Now all that matters is, ‘Trump is for this, we’re for this.’ And that includes denying truth, denying fact, denying reality. It’s such a disconnect from what’s really happened in the world.”"

So they say Trump "teased" running for re-election in 2024 but didn't commit to it. How can he? If he's a convicted felon he can't run!

He did encourage people to get the vaccine, so maybe some of these anti-vaxxers will say, "Oh all right, if my President wants me to I'll do it!" That would be a good thing, though I must admit I crack up when an anti-vaxxer dies of covid!

And of course he still claimed the election was rigged, denied any guilt in the Capitol riot, and blasted Biden, the Supreme Court and the Republican lawmakers who voted against him in his impeachment trial.

So it sounds like Trump is trying to make sure he's not forgotten while he goes off to fight his legal battles, hoping that he'll still be eligible to run again. Now, can we please not hear from him again until he's in court?

As Prez, Trump could command support of about 45% of the voting population, but could never get above that. Biden already has him beat in that regard. If only 55% of that bunch of right wing fanatics in CPAC want Trump to run for President, we can figure a smaller percentage of the Republican rank and file want that. And if Republicans make up about a quarter of the population, and his supporters are a fraction of that, the only way they're gonna win is through voter suppression. Hope the Dems can hang in there!

Democrats have 41.5 million more constituents than republicans. Granted, not all of those people are democrats, but if democrats do things that people like they should be able to hold on.
For example, 70% of ‘muricans like the relief bill passed in the house, Saturday. Even people who vote Republican.
