I’m asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000 or $4,000 for a couple."
    He's a patronizing jackass.

I agree, and since he will be out of office soon, he doesn't care.

The Founding Fathers never considered what would happen if someone as crooked as Donald Trump became president

Trump pardoned four former U.S. service members who were convicted on charges related to the killing of Iraqi civilians while working as contractors in 2007.

One of them, Nicholas Slatten, had been sentenced to life in prison after the Justice Department had gone to great lengths to prosecute him. Slatten had been a contractor for the private company Blackwater and was sentenced for his role in the killing of 17 Iraqi civilians in Nisour Square in Baghdad.
Among those dead were two boys, 8 and 11.

These Iraqi civilians were completely innocent and were slaughtered on a whim, because they could.

Trump administration considering granting Saudi prince legal immunity for alleged assassination plot, sources say - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"The Trump administration is considering granting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman legal immunity from a federal lawsuit alleging that he ordered an assassination squad to kill a former top Saudi intelligence official who shared information with the US, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Saad Aljabri alleges in his lawsuit in DC District Court that the Saudi prince sent members of the same assassination squad that killed journalist Jamal Khashoggi to Canada, where Aljabri now lives in exile, to target him as well."

Governor’s political party is biggest factor in whether a state has imposed mask mandate, study finds

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/heal...c5d32a-edf3-11ea-b4bc-3a2098fc73d4_story.html

    excerpt:

"Many GOP governors, Adolph said, “are trapped from above by Donald Trump, who cast doubt on the efficacy of masks, and they are trapped from below by citizens” loyal to the president.

After initial ambiguity over whether masks were useful in stemming the virus’s spread, epidemiologists and public health officials around the globe have coalesced around the position that face coverings are a critical tool to help prevent people from transmitting the virus to one another.

Adolph said he and fellow researchers were surprised by the reluctance of GOP governors to require people to wear masks, given that those governors have been particularly outspoken about the need to reopen businesses and schools, and considering that masks are a simpler and less expensive form of protection than various social distancing approaches.

“At the end of the day,” said Georges C. Benjamin, the executive director of the American Public Health Association, “this is all about individual rights versus collective rights.”

The findings reflect “this fundamental difference in their view of the role of government, which is playing out in so many ways” in the pandemic, he said.

Benjamin predicted that it will also play out in debates over whether people must be vaccinated once a vaccine for the novel coronavirus becomes available."

3,376 U.S. coronavirus deaths reported on December 22.

The rate of new coronavirus deaths in the U.S. increased in November and has persisted.

The death toll is a fact that stands regardless of attempts to belittle the virus, such as contending that an increase in new cases is innocuous and is due to more testing or dividing the deaths by a number to try to downplay them.

United States Coronavirus: 18,684,628 Cases and 330,824 Deaths - Worldometer

The number of U.S. coronavirus active cases has risen sharply since early November, consistent with predictions of a fall surge made by health officials.

The number of active cases was 7.4 million on December 22.

The increase in death rate lagged the increase in new cases by about a month, indicating that the surge in new cases wasn't an innocuous artifact due to increased testing (a faulty claim Trump has made repeatedly to try to downplay the coronavirus).

Fort Worth pastor who urged ‘faith over fear’ in the pandemic mourns parents who died of COVID complications

    excerpt:

"Pastor Todd Dunn had been urging “Faith over fear!” since the COVID-19 pandemic started in March. Just before Thanksgiving, he posted a message on Facebook dismissing precautionary measures advised by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to keep wearing masks and avoid gatherings with family members who don’t live in the same house.

I’m not wearing a mask when around my family like the CDC requests and we are traveling so we’ll take our chances,” Dunn’s Facebook post read. “And to top it off we are huggers so there you go! There will be no social distancing CDC. Faith over fear!!”"

In case it hasn't sunken in.......

Legally Trump can "suggest" someone shoot Joe Biden dead....and then pardon him, or her.
...and the Republicans would do nothing.

Since he can't be charged with manslaughter, he'll simply have to live with the knowledge that he may be responsible for the premature death of his parents,
and hope his old testament God shows mercy on his eternal soul.
